Hello and Happy Sunday!
On the Home Front: Trip and I went Sunday morning and filled the Pilot with boxes from Jess's storage unit and brought them back to the Pack Rat here. Jess was going to sort through them Thursday but it rained, so this week it'll be. Then we'll go get another load. It's mostly boxes, but there's some furniture, too. I want everything out of it before I pay for another month for her. lol
Weds Trip and I had eye doctor appointments. Everything all good. Thursday grocery pick up. Kyle worked OT again this week, so up at 4am again. One of these days I'll get him behind the wheel to practice more. Right now, it's just too much stress on me. Got the paperwork for wasband's IRA and he signed it. I sent it back and that's taken care of. I think I just need to do life insurance now. It's the small things that seem to take me forever. He's leaving me the beneficiary on his and if I die before I change mine, it's not a big deal to me. Hopefully I won't die for quite some time and I'll get it done soon.
The rest of the week I just worked on my blog or doom scrolled social media. I have been spending more time on Bluesky because Twatter is just a hellscape of hate and lies. Bluesky feels like Twitter when Twitter was great. I've been there since 2011 and I don't want to just delete my account. That's just too much for me right now. However, if the rumor proves true, that Truth Social and Twatter might merge, then I will delete with no regrets. In the meantime, I'm hoping Bluesky gets group DMs ASAP.
Saturday I did the cleaning then showered and jammied up. My stepdaughter came over (with 2 of the 3 grandkiddos) and made us a lovely dinner of tacos and strawberry daiquiris. Yum!
Today I want to relax and start reading my BBNYA books. We'll see how that goes.
Touching Nature: Been nicer and more Fall-like this week. We did get a steady (chilly) rain all day Thursday and we really needed it. According to my rain gauge it was 2.25". No Leafageddon. I'm waiting for the Leafy Horde to dry out before sending them into the woods.
Book News: Still haven't written reviews. Audiobooks are moving right along though. I really need to get started on my 3 books I'm judging for BBNYA2024. Time is getting away from me.
Don't Touch That Dial!: I've switched to CSI (the original).
At the Flicks: Nope
Cyberspace Playground: Wordle, Word Lots, Crossword Jam, Solitaire, jigsaw puzzles, the Finch app - is anyone wants to be friends just let me know.
Randomness: No regrets.
Randomness: No regrets.
Carol's Nuggets of Wisdom: When cutting potatoes to boil for mashed potatoes, the smaller you cut the pieces the faster they cook/get soft. This seems like something so logical, but I only figured it out a few years ago. lol
That's it for me. AVR News Update signing off. May all your books enthrall you.

I just joined BlueSky, and I agree, it's a lot like early Twitter. I'm enjoying it so far. I'm trying to get away from doom scrolling because it has taken it's toll on me. I love Chirp too! Between Chirp and the library, I'm all set for audiobooks.

Ugh I hadn’t heard that rumour about Twitter, I will definitely bail completely if that happens. In the meantime I’m making connections on Bluesky
ReplyDeleteWishing you a great reading week
A productive week you had! We need the rain but the dogs aren't fans. I have one BBNYA finished, one nearly finished. So I'm finally on track for it. 2 of mine were long ones. Luckily, I'm enjoying them.

Completely agree about BlueSky it feels like I stepped back to 2011.
ReplyDeleteTake a break from social media and go out and talk to real people. Bluesky is hellscape of hate and lies too.
