Hello and Happy Sunday!
On the Home Front: Dermatologist app't on Monday. Tuesday started out with Anna driving Kyle's car to work so I could take hers for an oil change, so Trip and I had breakfast at Pano's for the 2nd week in a row. NOM. Dropped her car off at work and picked up Kyle's car. Then it was all kinds of fucked up election wise. Unfuckingbelievable that we have to deal with that vile piece of shit as president again. People who voted for him are about to find out how bad it's going to get. For them. Because he sure as shit does not give a flying fuck about the average person. Rich white donors are what he's all about and he has a disgusting fascination with being a dictator.
Anyway, Trip had an assessment for autism on Weds. His actual test is next month. Thursday grocery pick up then dropped of the Pilot at the shop where my stepson works because the battery light came on. Engaged in Battle VI of Leafageddon on Tuesday (Trip did the roof and gutters) and Battle VII on Friday. The oak trees are still filled with the Leafy Horde, so there will be a few more battles before the war is won. The soon-to-be ex was over on Friday and Saturday to go over a few things and I lit into him on both days. I think I may have finally gotten everything off my chest. There's no more to be said. Just trying to move on. Friday picked up the Pilot. Battery and alternator tested good and the battery light had gone out, so I'll just keep driving it and see what happens.
Saturday was supposed to be the yearly nearby church BBQ. But they changed how they do things, so we just ordered from Smithfield's instead. And Kyle said he wants to treat us to Texas Roadhouse today, so we have leftovers for tomorrow. So, nom! We also still have plenty of leftovers from Smithfield's, so I won't have to cook for a couple more days. Can't hate that!
Kyle worked OT all week, so up at 4am again. He did not have to work yesterday though and has Monday off. Yay! Picked up Ellie from school Thursday and Friday. Friday the boys moved the planters off the back deck. Then Saturday I forgot to turn off my 4am alarm and I couldn't go back to sleep, so I got up at 5am. I folded two loads of towels, cleaned my bathroom, and went through my emails before I even made my tea. After walking the dogs I made two firewood racks then sent the boys outside to finish moving the wood from under the deck while I finished the cleaning. Then I went out to help. We got it all done and cleaned the detritus out as well. It feels good to cross another thing off the list. I need to get some estimates for some tree removals and stump grinding in prep for the big home projects after the New Year. The closing of the family farm is proceeding and while it makes me sad and I will miss it very much, I'm allowing myself to get excited about the things I'm planning for the house. Lots of changes going on lately. I even made 2 cycle gas for my leaf blower. My first attempt. I think we will survive. Now, if I could just find a job. Maybe I should just write a short story and put it up to see if it sells. Maybe I'll give it a go in the next week or so. Eye doctor appts for me and Trip next week and I'd really like to chop all my hair off. I'm so tired of how long, heavy, and hot it is.
Touching Nature: Too warm for November. Yuck! Temps are dropping this coming week though. Thank goodness. 80º in November is just rude of Ma Nature.
Book News: Audiobooks and that's it. I still haven't written any more reviews. Maybe this week.
Don't Touch That Dial!: Criminal Minds, season 13. I'm getting tired of watching this. I may start all over again with the CSIs.
At the Flicks: Nope
Cyberspace Playground: Wordle, Word Lots, Crossword Jam, Solitaire, jigsaw puzzles, the Finch app - is anyone wants to be friends just let me know.
Randomness: Guess what? I also get up earlier on the weekends, too. LOL

It was a rough week. I agree with your thoughts on the election. I'm glad you will still be able to do house projects even with the divorce. Sometimes that sucks all the money up. I'm finally getting to work on BBNYA reads, now that the election is over.
ReplyDeleteAnne - Books of My Heart This is my Sunday Post
I wouldn't be able to do anything if the family farm weren't selling in January. I'd be totally screwed. In fact, I'd go so far to say I couldn't afford to divorce him. I'll have a financial freedom (at least for the foreseeable future, I still need some income) a lot of women won't have. I'm lucky.
DeleteYes, I agree with you about the election. I am also glad you got things of your chest and hope you can move forward with healing and enjoying those renovations.
ReplyDeleteI'm still so full of rage, but I'm hoping that will pass soon.
DeleteI feel like it might be a bit irresponsible to pour a good chunk of my inheritance into the house (especially when I don't have an income yet), but I think my mom would be happy that I'm making my home better and more convenient. She said she should have done her improvements sooner instead of trying to save the money because then she would have had longer to enjoy them.
