Hello and Happy Sunday!

Hello, 2024. Be better than 2023. Or else.

On the Home Front: Monday was New Year's Day. Didn't do much of anything. Hubby had to work that night.

Tuesday took Artemis to vet for eye pressure checks and she has something going on with her right eye. It's still red. Got an ointment for it which I did twice a day for 3 days and it seems to be not red anymore. I'll keep an...eye...on it. hehe

Wednesday the architect came to measure the house. He'll draw up the plan then we'll go over all the things we'd like to renovate.

Thursday grocery pick up. Took Anna to the airport so she could fly out to Arizona for a visit with her boyfriend.

Friday I did the usual Saturday cleaning since there was a possible nasty storm heading our way and I wanted to get the laundry room done since there is no cover over the back deck and the litterboxes needed dumped.

Saturday, did a bit more of the cleaning and a bunch of laundry. Storm turned out to be very cold rain, but nothing else. 2" in the rain gauge. I read then played Pokemon for Community Day then read some more.

There are a few small things I need to do today then I plan to just read. We'll see how it goes.

Touching Nature: Rigged a cable to lock up the suet cake feeder since some furry asshat has been stealing them. Those are for the birds, dammit! Seems to be working, so HA! Also, the squirrels broke the steel cable on one of the feeders. I have the means to fix it, but need a stronger crimping tool for the ferrules. Our tiny vise just isn't up to the job. Chilly then rain on Saturday that was on the cusp of freezing rain, but ended up being just rain. Cold rain. I hate cold rain. But it was warm and dry in the house.

Book News: I finished a book I started 11 months ago. Yay! Then started a tour book. After I finish that I'll work on another book I started early last year. I hope to bop back and forth until I get caught up.

Don't Touch That Dial!:  Still rewatching Bones.

At the Flicks: Nope

Cyberspace Playground: Wordle, Word Lots, Solitaire, jigsaw puzzles

Carol's Nuggets of Wisdom: Invest in good boots. As long as your feet are warm and dry the rest of you will not be (as) miserable in cold wet weather.

That's it for me. AVR News Update signing off. May all your books enthrall you.

  1. Cold rain stinks! I also got Almost Surely Dead for one of my Amazon first reads. I've heard good things. Have a great week!

  2. We haven't had very much rain here. It hasn't been too cold either. Home renovation is exciting and frustrating. Happy New Year!
