Hello and Happy Sunday!

On the Home Front: I've been running around and I hate it. I fell asleep on the couch in the evening twice this week. Twice! I never nap, but I'm so tired. Ugh. However, I have no more appointments for any human or furry for the rest of the year, I got the time sensitive shit done, and I've nearly finished my Christmas shopping. Anna and I went out Sunday for 6 hours. In the rain. We hit 12 stops and had lunch at Red Lobster, but I could have used a couple of days to recover which I did not get. Sweet Baby Jane that was exhausting. Then Tuesday hubby, Trip, and I ran some errands and had lunch at Red Robin. Wait, I sense a Red theme here... Anyway, I'll sweep up the last bits tomorrow (some stocking stuff and a few gift cards) then I'll start wrapping shit while the last few items trickle in from Amazon.

Hubby and I bought a used garden tractor off Facebook Marketplace. We looked at it on Monday and bought it Tuesday. It's a Huskee and it's 20 yrs old. The mower deck needs a lot of work, but I don't need it so no big deal. It also has a grass catcher which I also don't need. All I wanted was something to pull mom's trailer around and I didn't want to have to take the backhoe off the Kubota every time I wanted to get the trailer out. And now I have a lawn/garden tractor to do just that. We bought a battery for it (guy knocked off the price because he didn't realize the batter was dead) and the seat is pretty gnarly so I'll replace it at some point. Now I just need to replace the tires on mom's trailer. They're pretty bad and she never got around to doing it.

When I took Kyle to the eye doctor Friday after work I looked for some new glasses to use as back ups for my readers, but I didn't find any frames I liked. They were all ugly to me. So, I need to look around elsewhere. I have my prescription so just need to see who has some I like. I've only ever got my glasses at the eye doctor so I'm not even sure where to start looking. Hubby found a pair he likes (as back ups to his pair) and Kyle ordered sunglasses. Glad our vision insurance is pretty good otherwise no one would be getting glasses until absolutely necessary. Yikes.

Touching Nature: Below freezing at night and low 50s during the day. Supposed to rain all day today then drop back to cooler temps during the day and below freezing again at night. Seems like we're getting the colder weather earlier than usual. We don't tend to see these cold temps until late January into February. Maybe we'll get snow this winter?

Book News: I rushed to finish a tour book and my BBNYA entries before the deadline, but didn't quite make it. I now have too many reviews to write.

Don't Touch That Dial!:  Some Bones but not much else. We'll be able to watch Christmas movies again this week.

At the Flicks: Nope

Cyberspace Playground: Wordle, Word Lots, Solitaire, jigsaw puzzles

Randomness:  Oh, look. It's me on the couch this week.

Carol's Nuggets of Wisdom: I've been stressing a lot these last couple of weeks. So much to do and it didn't seem like there were enough hours in the day especially when I wasted some sleeping on the couch. But I decided, some things were just going to have to wait. So, prioritize. What absolutely has to be done now (or soon), what can wait a bit, and what can wait indefinitely. Sometimes that's the best anyone can do.

That's it for me. AVR News Update signing off. May all your books enthrall you.

  1. I hope this week is less stressful for you! I can't imagine going to 12 places in one day. I don't have the energy for that!
