Hello and Happy Sunday!

On the Home Front: So, a stressful week that revolved around the oral surgeon and getting two big molars removed on Tuesday. In case you were wondering, I survived. lol I was really stressing about it which is probably why my blood pressure was fucking sky high when they were monitoring me. At least I was knocked out for it all. And things look to be healing nicely. But I really want carmel corn and can't have it yet. lolol Anyway, soft foods, multiple meds, and many many salt water rinses (and a prescription one) have ruled my week. I slept elevated on the loveseat recliner for two nights and then just couldn't do it for the 3rd and went to my comfy bed. I have had no swelling or really any pain, so that's been nice. I was told to take it easy and I have.

Thursday ~ did grocery pick up

Friday ~ hubby and I installed cat doors on the office and bedroom doors. They latch closed or can stick open. When we rescued Eevee (from our dead neighbor), she was in bad shape, so I nursed her in our master bathroom and now she believes it, our bedroom, and my office are her domain. So, when Artemis goes in her crate at night we would open the doors to let Eevee roam the house with Sugarcube and Captain Kirk whose domain is the other side of the house behind a "gate" we built. Well, leaving the doors cracked sucks for us. Kirk would ram his big fat floofy body into them and they'd swing open, letting in ambient light. We tried several ideas then I finally just said fuck it and bought some cat doors. This also solves another problem. Hubby works nights now driving for Sheetz, so when he sleeps during the day I can now close those doors and leave the cat door open for the bedroom, but close the one in the office door so Artemis isn't wigging out. In fact, I ordered another cat door for the bathroom door so it can be closed when he sleeps, cutting off even more ambient light coming from there since there is a skylight and the bathroom can be really bright even though I have blackout curtains hanging in front of it. Anyway, that cat door will be here today so we'll install it. Pretty easy to do, too.

Saturday ~ hubby, the boys, and I took stuff out of the Exterior Library (that had become a catchall for all things) and cleaned, tidied, tossed, recycled, etc then put stuff back including all the stuff we had stored in the PackRat container I was renting. So, it's empty now and will be returned Tuesday. This is just the beginning of a long process of changes that will take us many many months to accomplish and it's all tied into the loss of mom this year and dad 5 yrs ago.

Touching Nature: Got really nipply out there at night this week. Whew! Temps rising to the 70s during the day and sunny. Nice! I was victorious in Battle III of Leafageddon last Sunday. It rained Tuesday, but it's dry now. I plan to move forward with Battle IV today and we have 3 brush piles to burn if it's not windy. The boys, hubby, and I cleaned out the Exterior Library yesterday. Threw a bunch of stuff out and tidied. We also emptied the Pack Rat container I had delivered in September so that will be picked up Tuesday.

Book News: Nothing to report here.

Don't Touch That Dial!:  Still watching Lucifer. In season 4.

For October, we watched: Beetlejuice, Jaws, Hocus Pocus, The Haunted Mansion, Ghostbusters, Ghostbusters II, Frankenstein (1931), The Wolf Man (1941), Dracula (1931), Young Frankenstein, and The Invisible Man. I cannot believe we forgot Nightmare Before Christmas.

At the Flicks: Nope

Cyberspace Playground: Wordle, Word Lots, Solitaire, jigsaw puzzles

Randomness:  Yes, back to 1997 when I weighed 135lbs, please, and thank you.
Carol's Nuggets of Wisdom: Since so many places are getting snow already here's a tip: don't eat or play with yellow snow. Or brown snow.

That's it for me. AVR News Update signing off. May all your books enthrall you.

  1. It's great your dentist appt is over and you were able to relax. It sounds like you got a lot done with cleaning up the library and the cat doors and with leaves. I hope to get to more leaf battles this week. It's the beginning of the biweekly leaf sucker visits on the street. But the leaves haven't all fallen so I might wait a bit and do it all at once.
