Hello and Happy Sunday!

Est. October 19th, 2011

I find it hard to believe that this Thursday marks the 12th year I've been blogging. Wow.
Maybe next year I'll have something special planned.

On the Home Front: Another busy week with just stuff to do and an appointment for Artemis to have her eye checked. Got prednisone and eye drops. I hate when she's on prednisone because it makes her thirsty (as I type this she's been drinking for like 5 minutes lol) and then she has to pee more. She peed in the house twice (have I mentioned lately how much I hate having 23 year old carpet?), but that's our fault and we don't blame her. Nancy came to do the dogs nails Weds afternoon then we went to the Carolina Hurricanes home opener Weds evening. They won! Woot!

It was Sunday that I finally tidied up the coats and things from our project a few weeks ago. I sorted all the hats, gloves, tools, etc and put stuff away. It looks nice and is less stressful.

Next I need to do my desk area and sort through files. I think I'll take down the bookshelves by my desk and completely redo them. I want a new desk, too. Then I'll need to tidy and sort the shelves that have office supplies and such on them. The office has gotten quite messy. But it's not like I've not been busy this year or anything. Actually the whole house is a mess. *sigh*

The lady who is interested in Scrappy is coming Thursday to meet him. I'm hoping for an excellent meeting. *fingers crossed*

Touching Nature: Been pretty nice out. And dry. I mowed Thursday afternoon (probably for the last time?) and, for the first time of the season, got the backpack blower out. Leafageddon has begun. Very early Saturday morning until well after lunch it rained. A lot. I need to check the rain gauge.

Book News: Nothing to report here. My love of reading has been absent since mom's death. I've read a few shortish books for tours, but have stumbled when it comes to books I have that I know I'll love but can't seem to pick up. I've never had this struggle before. I believe it will pass. I just need time. I also still have something like 8 reviews to write. They will get done eventually.

Don't Touch That Dial!:  Watching Lucifer when I veg in the livingroom in the evenings. I'm hoping my love of reading returns soon.

At the Flicks: Nope

Cyberspace Playground: Wordle, Word Lots, Solitaire, jigsaw puzzles

Randomness:

Carol's Nuggets of Wisdom: Don't let people arbitrarily tell you how to do something. Unless it's a life or death situation (or is something specific to your job) then how you do it (whatever it is) is perfectly fine.
Examples: How you...

do laundry
write reviews
tie your shoes
cook
put away groceries
pick your nose
scratch your ass
have sex (or not)
have kids (or not)
etc etc to infinity and beyond

What you do and how you do those things are no one's business unless you are breaking a law. A real law. Not someone's made up law, guideline, or rule.

That's it for me. AVR News Update signing off. May all your books enthrall you.

  1. That happened to me after my dad passed too. I just couldnt get into reading and just kind of floated around. I am now back to reading a bit, monster porn does help :)

I love the stuff you both build, I need you to come to my house when we move and build me stuff. I'll make a list ;)

    I hope Artemis feels better!

Have a great week, My friend! Happy Reading (maybe?) :D

  3. It's understandable why you may not feel like reading right now. Just do things at your own pace. Sounds like you are getting some things done on the home front which always feels good.
