Hello and Happy Sunday!

On the Home Front:
  • Sunday - I forget. lol
  • Monday - Drove to Ohio
  • Tuesday - Took mom shopping. We hit 5 places and she was tired by the time we got home. I hung the blinds we got at Home Depot, but I'll need my nephew to check the one is seated properly because I'm just not tall enough. It's in the upstairs hallway above the stairs. He's 6'4" so he should be able to see it and he can definitely reach it better than me. lol
  • Wednesday - Mom was supposed to have her chemo infusion, but she had some tiny white spots in her mouth (thrush-very common with chemo) so they decided to skip it for this week and get that under control with a mouth rinse before it turned nasty. Instead, they gave her fluids and potassium which was a tad low. We were at the hospital for bloodwork at 9:30 and broke out of there after 2:00pm. They need comfier visitors chairs. Ugh. My ass. I hung a few things on the wall for her after we got back.
  • Thursday - Ran into town looking for mango, peach, or guava nectar for mom and dropped some donations off at the Hospice thrift store. Then pulled the blocks out of the flowerbed by the milk house and loaded them into the Pilot. She cleaned out the hall closet while I was outside. I made her watermelon water and my eldest spawn came for a visit after work.
  • Friday - Visited with my cousin Linda for a bit. Then loaded the Pilot in prep for my take off tomorrow. Rest of the day was lazing about.
  • Saturday - Drove home from Ohio. So glad I was heading south and not north as those lanes were backed up for miles in several places. Whew! Left around 7:45am and pulled in at 3:30pm with 3 pit stops. Hubby was at work. I passed Anna on our road going somewhere with friends. Boys unloaded the Pilot for me. Those blocks made the Pilot heavy. Oof. I unpacked then cleaned our bathroom since Eevee had litter everywhere. 😒 I also made Trip help me fill my feeders since he let them ALL get empty. *sigh* Then I finished the audiobook I had started for the trip while I went through the stack of mail on my desk and cleaned out my emails because my laptop had logged me out in Ohio and I didn't have my passwords. lol
  • Today - I'll probably spend at least a part of the day catching up and finishing the Saturday cleaning.

Mom's week: She had a pretty great week because I was there. 😄 Her weight was only down .6 lbs from last week so hopefully it'll stay steady or start creeping back up. We got a bunch of ingredients to make various smoothies to tempt her with calories, protein, and potassium. I hit on one with cherry pie filling that's tasty and not too sweet. Her taste buds are shot, but she doesn't like anything too sweet. So I cut the sweetness with either greek yogurt or cottage cheese. She said "I don't like those." but done up in her Ninja with other ingredients she doesn't even taste them. She thinks she may becoming lactose intolerant so I got some Lactaid and she said it doesn't repeat on her. lol

Remember last month mom went to see the project that Kent State University student, Lila, had done for one of their programs Stories Connecting Generations? She visited with mom, bro, and sis-in-law after I had left on Saturday so I didn't get to meet her. But she agreed to sell her work to mom as she doesn't need it for a portfolio. She needs to finish up some quilting on two of the pieces, but mom will get all 4 quilted banners, her sketches, and some other stuff. When she has everything I'll take decent pictures then do a blog post about it. Because I think that program is important and we need to spread the word to all schools. So stay tuned.

Touching Nature: Warm and no rain in Ohio. According to the fam I left behind it has rained all week at home. At times it "hella stormed" according to Anna. lol

Book News: I still have several reviews to write.

Don't Touch That Dial!: Mom's on a M*A*S*H* kick so lots of episodes. Thank the Re-Run Gods. I was really tired of Leave It to Beaver.

At the Flicks: Nope

Cyberspace Playground: Wordle, Zen Match, jigsaw puzzles

Randomness:

Carol's Nuggets of Wisdom: You are stronger than you think. Don't underestimate yourself. But also, don't neglect self-care.

That's it for me. AVR News Update signing off. May all your books enthrall you.
