Hello and Happy Sunday!
Happy 7th Birthday Boone! (on Weds)
(not his cake, he just likes Sonic lol)
On the Home Front:
- Sunday - Hubby worked on his transcription. I did my usual morning stuff and some laundry then settled into my chair with some lunch and a book on my iPad. I finished my lunch but fell asleep for about 4 hrs. I guess I needed it, but I'm bummed I didn't get more reading done.
- Monday - Took Kyle to work then Ellie to school. Did the morning furries care and computer rounds then cleaned out the fridge. Trip took apart one of his dead office chairs and shit canned it before we took the garbage and recycling cans up to the road. Had lunch and read for a little bit before picking Ellie up from school. Carter is looking for a new job so my Kindergarten Taxi days are done since he's home and can do it.
- Tuesday - Took Kyle to work. Did the morning furries care and computer rounds. Trip and I worked outside clearing leaves, branches, and other misc shit before setting up 2 firewood racks. Warm (70s) and sunny. Had Subway for lunch then I read for a bit before everyone came home from work. Made strombolis for dinner.
- Wednesday - Took Kyle to work. Chillier today but sunny. Did the usual morning stuff then Trip and I worked outside sorting a huge pile of cut wood. We stacked the stuff that didn't need split and set aside the ones that did. Got inside just as Jess texted to see if I could pick Ellie up because her appt with the oral surgeon was running behind. So I picked up Ellie in Kyle's car, ran it through the car wash, stopped to get Ellie some Krispy Kreme mini donuts then dropped her off. It's Boone's 7th Birthday. Party is Saturday.
- Thursday - Took Kyle to work. Lots of errands and grocery pick up at Walmart and TSC. Put away everything and sat down for a bit before making eggs and toast for dinner.
- Friday - Awake at 5am instead of 5:30. Ugh. Raining out. Took Kyle to work, stopped at Food Lion for a few things, did the ususal morning stuff then worked on the blog and other computer related stuff the rest of the day.
- Saturday - Did the cleaning and folded 2 loads of towels. Hubby worked 5 - 11 then he and Trip went to Boone's birthday party. I don't go to the grandkiddos parties because of their mom and other grandma. Toxic bitches and I don't put up with it. It's better if we all keep our distance. Anyway, while they are gone I'm finishing this post then I'll make 3 lbs of bacon and shred some taters for hash browns and we'll have those with eggs, sausage links, and toast for dinner. Daylight Savings Time is tonight, so we spring ahead and lose an hour. It's so fucking stupid and should have been eliminated a long time ago.
- Today - Supposed to rain and possibly snow (!) so I'm hoping to read today. Not sure what I'll make for dinner. I'll rummage around in the freezer for something since the freezer will need defrosted soon. Next Sunday is my 55th birthday so I'm taking the whole weekend off starting Friday afternoon. I plan on eating, playing some video games, and reading. Lots of reading.
Mom's week: Mom's week started with her going backward. She's been throwing up again and having the pain associated with acid reflux. At least, that's what we think it is. That hasn't bothered her in quite awhile now so I'm thinking it may be anxiety related? Maybe? With the new diagnosis and upcoming treatment and she's always been a worrier, so I think it might be a possibility. I told her maybe try meditating and she said she could try medicating. Meditating! Not medicating. We LOL'd. Although she is going to try some different acid reflux meds. Maybe one will work better than the one she's using. And I told her to drink the decaf ginger tea I got her. She's gotten out of the habit of drinking it after mealtimes.
Touching Nature: Mostly nice Spring weather. It did cool down towards the end of the week and rained Thursday night/Friday. Trip and I touched a lot of Nature this week. Not as much that needs done but we're slowly nibbling away at the work.
Book News: A bit of reading here and there.
Don't Touch That Dial!: Cruising through Cold Case season 7. Our next watch is picked out: Murdoch Mysteries. But before we dive into that I think we'll finally watch all of Obi-Wan and then get caught up with The Bad Batch season 2, and The Mandalorian season 3.
At the Flicks: No Ant-Man yet.
Cyberspace Playground: Wordle, Zen Match, jigsaw puzzles
Randomness:
Carol's Nuggets of Wisdom: Make sure you clean your refrigerator and freezer coils. We got new appliances in March of 2020 and I kept forgetting to take the front cover off the kitchen fridge, so I finally did it yesterday. I pulled enough cat fur out to make a whole new cat. So, yeah. Put that on your To Do List. I really need to do the freezer and minifridge, too but those have to pulled out from the wall.
That's it for me. AVR News Update signing off. May all your books enthrall you.

I don't have pets anymore, but I used to have 3 dogs, and I was shocked at all the places I found dog hair. I'd find it inside the freezer and in cabinets. It was EVERYWHERE.
ReplyDeleteI was shocked we got flurries and I didn't see the prediction. I might have covered the lettuce and snow peas. But the temperature was 40 so it wasn't going to stick. A couple of cold nights and then back to the 70s. I'm ok with a quiet day today to get some things done. Happy birthday! I'm sorry you don't go to the grandkids but you can have them for a different time with less hassle.

Sorry about your Mom.

Naps are nice, but I do hate when they kick in just as I settle in with a good book.
ReplyDeleteThe tip about cleaning the fridge is appreciated since I'll have to buy me a fridge when I get home.
Sorry your mom has had a bit of a setback.
Hope you enjoy your birthday weekend!
Hope your mom is better soon. That's tough. Have a great weekend.
