Hello and Happy Sunday!

On the Home Front:
  • Sunday - Trip and I thought we had the beginnings of a head cold. Kyle has been sick for over a week with coughing and sneezing.
  • Monday - Nope. It's Covid. Kyle's test came back negative which makes me think he's now past the positive stage, but not before gifting it to me and Trip.
  • Tuesday - Picked up prescriptions at CVS drive thru and had them get me some cough suppressant.
  • Wednesday -  Still Covid. Goodbye smell and taste. At least the fever is gone.
  • Thursday - Did curbside grocery pick up at Walmart and BJ's for first time in over a month. BJ's has excellent service. Walmart, not so much, but better than in December. Still feel shitty.
  • Friday - Got more Covid tests from CVS. Rested most of the day.
  • Saturday - Smell and taste are starting to return. Trip and hubby went to Hurricanes game. Did not do the cleaning. Fuck that shit.
  • Today - Might try to replace the suspension rods in the washer since hubby will be home. Will definitely need to clean the laundry room, at the very least, and it's Anna's turn to empty the litterboxes. I've just been taking it easy so as to not make my recovery slower. I have a shitton to do, but know better than to push it. Hoping to slowly rev it up this week.
Mom's week: Had a decent week. Exercising a lot. She's set a goal of home by the end of April. Sounds doable.

Touching Nature: Warm-ish then rain followed by nipply weather.

Book News: I finished 2 books that had been languishing on my paused shelf then started and finished a tour book. I actually have 7 reviews to write. 3 are for BBNYA finalists that will have upcoming tours. I need to get on those reviews before I completely forget about them.

Don't Touch That Dial!: Still watching Bones, season 10. Sweets, no! I knew it was coming, but still. 😭

At the Flicks: Nope

Cyberspace Playground: Wordle, Zen Match, jigsaw puzzles

Randomness:

Carol's Nuggets of Wisdom:  I wish other people in my house would take illnesses as seriously as I do. I mask to not get sick and to not get anyone else sick. Maybe if I die they'll feel bad about bringing it home? Or will they just be irritated there's no one to cook their meals? It's a head scratcher fer sure.

That's it for me. AVR News Update signing off. May all your books enthrall you.

  1. So sorry you got sick this past week. I hope that you get to feeling better quickly! I loved Bones. It was such a good show! I need to go back to some books that I put to the side for whatever reason and get back to finish them! Hope you have a better week!

  2. I'm hearing about LOTS of covid this past week. It's in the home my Mom is living but she has stayed fine. She's 95. We just stay home and mask if we go anywhere. It's tiring at times, but easier than being sick. I hope you feel better soon.

  3. I'm on day 9 of positive covid myself, thanks to a co-worker sharing. :( I was pretty sick the first few days but after that the symptoms improved pretty quickly. Hope you're up and about and feeling better really soon. Fingers crossed.

  4. I'm so sorry you had COVID - hope you're recovering well. Yeah, I feel you on the frustration of being around people who don't take it seriously. We do, but so many people we have to associate with (for work, for example) don't.

LOL about the dry clean only -- I dry clean nothing and try not to own anything that wants to be.

Have a good - hopefully healthy - week!

  5. Sorry you got COVID. It seems like everybody has it right now. I caught it from work last summer, even though I try really hard to be careful. It sucks.
