Hello and Happy Sunday!
(post written on Saturday)

On the Home Front:
  • Sunday - Was going to work on Anna's closet but didn't get to it. Aiming for next weekend. Did some tasks then put my foot up, resting my ankle.
  • Monday - Drove to Ohio. Did hit some rain in the mountains, but otherwise the drive was without incident.
  • Tuesday - Ran some errands for mom and then ran my feet off, fetching things, making food, keeping her hydrated.
  • Wednesday - Moved small things out of the living room so the carpet cleaners could do the carpet, her "new" lift chair (it belonged to my ex mother-in-law), and other recliner. Mom hung out in her old-old recliner (that she loathes lol) on the front porch with her iPad since the tv out there is not hooked up to the cable. Another day of mothering my mom.
  • Thursday - Took mom to her oncologist appt. She had a lot of questions and he answered them all. We asked about the 1500 calorie a day goal and he said that was too much for the moment. He said to aim more for eating anything and everything she can tolerate as often as possible. She had not lost any more weight so that was good. If she can stay steady on and gradually up her intake of nutrition then she should be back to her old self (or close to it) by Halloween(ish). Did some errands, cleaned out the fridge, and mothered mother.
  • Friday - Drove back to NC.
  • Saturday -  Did the cleaning, played a bit with my trusty sidekick, Backpack Blower, cut hubby's hair then took a shower and relaxed with my feet up.
  • Today -  I intend to relax.
Mom's week: I feel she is doing better. I've kept her fed, hydrated, and entertained. I've bullied encouraged her to do laps around the living room (she uses a cane and is bit shaky) when she gets up to use the bathroom. She slept all night every night I was there. I wish I could stay a lot longer, but it's not possible. While Kyle and hubby would be ok, I'd worry about leaving Trip for any length of time. A few days, like 5, he can handle, but probably not more. Anna is still there, oldest bro arrived Fri and will head back on Sun. Bro and sis-in-law will be back from SC Sunday also. My nephew married a wonderful woman on Friday. I'm planning on heading back to OH on Oct. 14th.

I want to thank everyone who has visited and commented. I feel like I'm being tugged in two different directions and going sideways instead. One of these days I'll get caught up. I hope.

Touching Nature: In Ohio it was something like 90º on Weds and then I woke up to windy and cool on Thursday then 44º on Friday morning! It's also cooler at home in NC. It's nice!

Book News: I finished an audio and started another on the way up to Ohio then finished that one and started another on the way back. I also finished an ebook while there. I really thought mom would nap more and I'd have more time to read. Ah. Nope. lol The list of reviews I need to write is growing.

Don't Touch That Dial!: Watched the game show network with mom, some M*A*S*H*, and Leave It to Beaver.

At the Flicks: Not yet.

Cyberspace Playground: Still Wordle and Zen Match

Randomness:  What in the actual fuck...

Carol's Nuggets of Wisdom: Buy the books. Eat the dessert. Dance like no one is watching. Stretch your wings. Our time on Earth is finite.
That's it for me. AVR News Update signing off. May all your books enthrall you.

  3. You are doing a much needed job of taking care of family. Those of us in the middle with parents and children who need support have a lot on our plates. Enjoy the lovely weather this week!
