Hello and Happy Sunday!
(post written on Saturday)

On the Home Front:
  • Sunday - Sat with foot up.
  • Monday - Mostly sat with foot up. Trip and I did clean litter boxes and fill the bird feeders then I vacuumed. Last day I had to pick up Ellie at school. Jess got her car back.
  • Tuesday - Anna's 25th birthday!
  • Wednesday - Did the BJ's run.
  • Thursday - Hubby's 54th birthday! Also, grocery pick up, phone calls, emails, you know, tedious stuff.
  • Friday - Hubby and Kyle took the day off. I did a bit of cleaning so I wouldn't have so much to do tomorrow.
  • Saturday - Did some cleaning, then hubby and I went to the Friends of the Library book sale since it was bag day. $15 a bag. We have 4 canvas bags from about 15 yrs ago so we always take those. They have flat bottoms instead of being wedge shaped and we get a lot more books in them. hehehe Anyway, good thing because hubby so does love the large History books. Jeez, my packing skillz are stretched with these sales. After that we picked up some of those Krispy Kreme CurrDoughs donuts, ran my Pilot through the carwash and then filled it up in prep for my trip to Ohio on Monday.
  • Today -  Hubby and I plan to work on Anna's closet.

Mom's week: Not doing very well. She was prescribed Olanzapine for nausea and it did a number on her. Trip takes it for his schizoaffective disorder so I know the side effects. Weds, on the way out the door to radiation, she fell and hit her head on the kitchen step. Anna asked her if she wanted to call 911 but she said it wasn't bad so they went to radiation and when they saw the doctor after he sent her to the hospital to get a CAT scan since she's on blood thinners. A sensible precaution but she said it was dumb. Anyway, no bleeding inside her noggin, so she went home. However, the oncologist put her treatment on hold (and said no more Olanzapine which she already deep sixed) because she's been losing too much weight. She only had a week to go, too. 😞 So, once the Olanzapine finally wore off her legs got steadier, and the other side effects disappeared. She started eating more, but on Saturday she woke up with nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. So we think she should probably increase her food gradually and keep taking the nausea pill even though the chemo pills were stopped. It's going to take a bit I'm sure for her stomach to heal enough for the nausea to stop.

Touching Nature: It has been so absolutely gorgeous out and I wanted to go out and get some work done, but, you know, ankle. Dammit.

Book News: Read some more, but have written no reviews. Ugh

Don't Touch That Dial!: Working our way through Lucifer fairly quickly.

At the Flicks: Not yet.

Cyberspace Playground: Still Wordle and Zen Match

Randomness:  Oh, fuck yeah. I will drop that shit so fast!

Carol's Nuggets of Wisdom: Yes. It's me.

That's it for me. AVR News Update signing off. May all your books enthrall you.

  1. I am sorry you missed being able to do more this week as we had some lovely days. I hope your ankle is much better, especially if you are traveling. But you are going north so hopefully a bit cooler. It's great you will be with your Mom this week. It will be 90s again here for a few days.
