Hello and Happy Sunday!
(post written on Saturday)
Today is 9/11. I can't believe it's been 21 yrs since that day.
And the Queen died this week. Hard to believe she's gone. I kinda thought she was immortal.
On the Home Front:
- Sunday - Lazed around.
- Monday - Labor Day
- Tuesday - Back to the regularily scheduled program.
- Wednesday - Went to pet store and gassed up Kyle's car.
- Thursday - Grocery pick up and TSC.
- Friday - BJ's run and Spirit of Halloween. Mowed part of the lawn before twisting my ankle.
- Saturday - Mostly sat with my foot up.
- Today - Plan is to sit with my foot up and be waited on.
So, the last part of August, my husband and four others were accused of sexual harrassment at work. Except he wasn't told that right off the bat. He was told late Friday night not to come in the next day (Saturday) because of a complaint. That Monday he still didn't know what was going on except he was told to stay home and he'd be paid while the investigation went on. But his phone started blowing up with news from co-workers that the accusation was sexual harrassment and he wasn't the only one accused. The entire plant knew about the investigation even though it was supposed to be confidential. Aside from that clusterfuck, he was confused as to how he could possibly be accused. So, on Tues. he got an email from the new head of HR with the three instances and asked him to tell his side of the story and if he wanted to include any names of people to talk to. So...long story short (too late) everything was dismissed and everyone went back to work. But husband is royally pissed about it all and he's looking for a new job. The end.
Mom's week was going ok then she got another infusion on Thursday bringing back the cold sensitivity which had just went away.
Friday I was mowing and I turned my ankle. I went down like a sack of bricks. My ankle started swelling immediately and got to about baseball sized. I'm trying to stay off it as much as possible and taking ibuprofen and icing it. When I got up Saturday morning the swelling was almost gone, but of course walking around is kind of essential so it swelled back up. We'll see how it does today.
Touching Nature: Better temps, some moisture here and there, and then it rained all day Saturday. All. Day. I mowed a bit Friday before fucking up my ankle.
Book News: Slow going, but some progress all the same.
Don't Touch That Dial!: Supernatural season 15, nearly to the series finale. Should wrap it up today.
At the Flicks: Not yet.
Cyberspace Playground: Still Wordle and Zen Match

ReplyDeleteAww, what the hell? I hope that you're able to rest and keep that leg up. *HUGS*
ReplyDeleteI hope you ankle gets better.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week.
Well that's a crappy situation at hubby's work. It's just amazing how easy it is to accuse w/ no proof and it's all on the accused to clear their name which can be tough to weed out the lies. Reputations, jobs, marriages, can be ruined by this kind of stuff! As for the reading, I picked that First Read too - might be good....I have about a 50/50 success rate on picking those. :)

Ugh! I'm so sorry. I'm glad everything was dismissed. Because accused of something like that is so dangerous when it's not true. Often everyone already decides the person's guilty whether they are or not. (I'm sure you're aware of this.) I hope his reputation isn't sullied and that he can find a new job. Good luck!

I'm sorry it was such a crazy week for you. I was going to mow but it hadn't even been a week so I decided to mow this week coming up, maybe Tuesday. I really hope your ankle is better soon.
ReplyDeleteAnne - Books of My Heart This is my Sunday Post
Ouch, sorry you are going through all this. I hope you find comfort in books this week.
