Hello and Happy Sunday!

Happy Father's Day!

On the Home Front:
  • I don't really remember what I did this week. LOL I know it was so fucking hot.

  • Except for Wednesday which was Trip's 23rd Birthday. He wanted to go to the Cork & Cow, so we did. We had wine and a cheese/bread/fruit/meat platter that was tasty. And we brought home  a bottle of deliciousness called Salt of the Earth. Yum!
  • Thursday was the usual grocery pick up. Then a nasty afternoon storm.
  • Friday Trip and I went to the mechanic's to get the Pilot inspected for my sticker, so, of course, we had breakfast at Pano's Diner. Yum! Then got our hair cut. Another afternoon storm, just not as nasty.
  • Saturday hubby and I went to a get together with some old and new friends at the oldest friends' house. It was lovely. Weather was perfect, too. We peopled and survived. Yay!
Since we got rain I know I'll need to mow. Probably tomorrow morning before we climb back up to the upper 90s again this week. Gross.

Touching Nature: Hot, big thunderstorms, then cooler. Yay! I forgot to post a pic last week of hubby finally prying the bigass stump out of its home. On Facebook I said he was posing with his kill. lmao

Book News: I finished a book. Finally! I'm trying to get stuff done in the mornings so I can read after lunch, but it's not gelling yet. And it needs to because I'm so far behind where I want to be.

Don't Touch That Dial!: Finished our Star Wars rewatch (except for Obi-Wan). Now we're working our way through Supernatural. At one time we had made it to season 11, but that's been a few years ago, so I wanted to start from the beginning as a refresher and hubby didn't really want to. So...we're watching season 1. lolol

At the Flicks:  Nothing

Cyberspace Playground: Still Wordle and Zen Match

Randomness:   This would be me. Totally. Except for the cig part. I don't smoke. lol

Carol's Nuggets of Wisdom: It's perfectly okay to sit and do nothing. To not be productive ALL the time. Everybody needs to recharge in their own way and not worry about how others do things.

That's it for me. AVR News Update signing off. May all your books enthrall you.

I had requested a book months ago and completely forgot about it then out of the blue got the approval. Probably because the book pubs in August. lol No worries. I love book surprises.

  1. The heat has me able to sit and do nothing or more time reading inside. It seems to be on a 5 day cycle of 100 and oven, then 5 or less days of 80s north wind and nicer. That works since at least I can mow and get the yardwork done. I mowed half the yard yesterday and have the other half today. It's so nice today!

  2. The heat has been unbearable. We've had low 100s where I'm at. The only thing I can say is that I'm grateful I live in a dry climate. If it were humid here too, I'd just want to die, lol.
