Behind every Florida Man is a Florida Woman—usually waving a restraining order.
“Florida Man” has met his match in Bobbie Drex, a down-and-out native of the Sunshine State. She may be short of cash, but she’s always packing enough snark to give any whack-job a run for his money.
Including her wisecracking, redneck cousin, Earl.
But when a mysterious stranger arrives at her mechanic shop seeking repairs to his ratty old RV, it’s Bobbie who’s in for a complete overhaul.
Phantom shooters in hot-pants. Gonadal twins. Norman Bates in a turban. Mothman pooper scoopers.
It’s enough to make anyone want to run off and join the circus. But in Florida, you don’t have to. Wait long enough, and the freak show comes to you.
So, grab some mosquito repellant and a lawn chair. Then sit back and relax. Things are about to go sidesplittingly off the rails in the Sunshine State ….

Bobbie Drex is a mechanic at her dad’s place, Robert’s Mechanics, in Nowheresville, Florida. Ok, really it’s Point Paradise, an hour from Gainesville. But it really is out there with not much going on. Until the day Bobbie gets shot in the head and everything changes. Again. Because she’s already come back to run the shop when her dad died six months before and her mom ran off to Vegas to marry the postman two days after his funeral. That just left her cousin Earl to take over the shop and Bobbie wasn’t having that. But little does she know, the shop is going to be the least of her worries from now on.
This is a campy horror that’s fun, funny, and good for some light entertainment. This is not to be taken seriously. No, really. I know the title is Moth Busters and all, but it is not about pest extermination. Ok, maybe it is a bit. But not like any pests we know. Bobbie’s dogmatic attitude is a bit of a drag, but her cousin Earl is funny. And then there’s the supernatural woowoo stuff, William Knickerbocker with the busted up Winnebago, some weird Moth Man, and what’s up with the cop? Weird things are going on and Bobbie gets stuck smack in the middle of it. Which makes for some entertaining reading.
