Hello and Happy Sunday!

But also sad because this is the day I lost my dad 3 yrs ago.

On the Home Front: I never should have said we were back to semi-boring days. Vengeance had a recurrence of the bloody diarrhea and some vomiting. Not as severe as last month and I took him to the vet as soon as I saw it happening. I had to buy new entryway rugs because of the diarrhea, but they were starting to fall apart anyway, so no great loss. However, he had another incident on one of the new rugs and now it's outside until we can use the carpet shampooer on it. Ugh. They were only $16 so if the stink doesn't come out it's going in the trash. I'm not fucking around for a measly $16. I'd love a custom-made runner for the entry but can't find anyone who makes them. I need one 40" x 10', preferably low pile carpet that has a binding around the edges. My search continues...

We have the ankle biters. At the time of this drafting (Saturday afternoon) they are spending the night so we can go watch the fireworks at a friends' house who live right by a major park that has them every year. The weather is gorgeous, so should be fun. After they go home tomorrow we may work on the garden shed or we may hold off, rise early on Monday, and get started since hubby and Kyle have the day off. I hope to share progress pics next week.

Touching Nature: I said on Facebook that it's been as hot as Satan's taint and I do better when it's cold as Santa's taint. Anyway, we then got a bit of rain and it cooled down some. Trip and I tamed the feral greenery on Thursday morning. Last Sunday we got the gravel down for the new garden shed but haven't had an opportunity to work anymore on it. Hoping to get the floor foundation nailed together today/tomorrow.

Book News: I did not get any reviews written. Zippo. Zero. However, I did read a few more books so now I'm sitting on 7 reviews. Gah.

Don't Touch That Dial!: Still slogging through the A-Team. Man, this show. How ridiculous is it? But I love Murdock, so...lol

At the Flicks: Nope

Cyberspace Playground: Nope

Randomness:

Carol's Nuggets of Wisdom: Have a pair of scissors, a pencil and/or pen, and a box of tissues in every room of your house. You're welcome.

That's it for me. AVR News Update signing off. May all your books enthrall you.

  1. So sorry Vengeance still isn't feeling well. Have you thought of maybe getting a second opinion on what is going on with him?

Have fun at the fireworks, we are spending the day home. I just don't want to go out, it's too peoplely outside. :)

Have a great week, Carol! Happy Reading!

  2. Saturday was perfect weather after the rain Friday. I wish I had done more outdoor work. The wind is shifting to the south so it is heating up by Monday again. I figure July and August are mostly a lost cause. Other than trying to mow right after it rains and water when it doesn't, I can just stay inside with the AC. Happy 4th!

  4. Oh no, I'm not sure who Vengeance is, but I hope he starts to feel better for his sake and for the sake of your rugs. Hope you have a great week, and good luck on all those reviews!
