Hello and Happy Sunday!

Miss you, Dad!

On the Home Front: Last Sunday our A/C froze up. So I put a call into the emergency line and a tech came out and fixed us up. Good thing we pay for the service package otherwise it would have been $150 JUST to come out. Why anyone wouldn't pay for the package for an expensive item is beyond me. We paid $4100 for a new heat pump in 2016. With the package they come out twice a year, Spring and Fall, to do maintenance. It's totally worth it.

The guys who installed the gutters last Friday came back on Monday to do the gutter guards. We'll see how well they work. Nearly 21 years we've lived here and we've never had guards. The tree shit always clogs the gutters. Continuously. I bet hubby will be glad not to get up on the roof all the time with the backpack blower to clean out the gutters.

Wednesday Nox went back to the specialist. Her pneumonia is gone, but she has mineral deposits in her lungs which will require steroids at some point, hopefully not too soon. Otherwise, she enjoys good health.

Trip and I worked outside Thursday morning. It was so nice out! Then it got hot as we finished up. Whew! Then I went to pick up a trailer we ordered. Finally! We can go to Lowe's and not worry about how to get plywood home. Hubby's truck is not compatible for more than a sheet or two. Our next truck will be full-sized. For fuck's sake. lol I grew up on a farm and pulled wagons with tractors all the time, but this was the first time I ever pulled a trailer with my vehicle. I feel so accomplished that I got trailer and Pilot home with no incidents.

Kyle got his first Pfizer shot Friday evening.

My stepson got married yesterday. I also had our friend come out to spray the bugs. Gotta kill those motherfucking deer flies. Why are they so bad this year?! In addition, we got Texas Roadhouse for dinner so we can have leftovers for Father's Day. Because it's just so yummy.

Today is Anna's last day at the pet lodge. She has a new job lined up doing cleaning. We'll see how she likes it. She's also all signed up for Fall classes. She'll be in the graphic arts and marketing program.

That's about it for this week.

Touching Nature: It was actually kinda nice this week. Coolish in the mornings, but getting hotter later in the day. We could use some rain. Maybe today? I filled the bird feeders and I'm getting some finches to show up. Yay! My Tiny Patrons continue to partake of the hummingbird feeders and I've discovered they prefer whichever feeder I stick partially under a bush. LOL AND...I have crows showing up for the first time! My hubby has been throwing some corn out for the deer and we've had several show up to finish off what the deer don't eat. I want to build a table for them, something too high for the deer to eat the corn (and maybe I'll get some peanuts in the shell, I hear they like that), but low enough I can reach to feed them. Maybe eventually they'll start bringing me interesting items in exchange. :D

Also...first "crop" of beans. LOL

Book News: I'm inching forward on this front. Still have several reviews to write, but at least I managed to read a bit.

Don't Touch That Dial!: Still watching the A-Team.

At the Flicks: Nope

Cyberspace Playground: Nope

Randomness:

Carol's Nuggets of Wisdom: If at all possible, work when it's cool. Because boob sweat sucks and ass crack sweat is so irritating.

That's it for me. AVR News Update signing off. May all your books enthrall you.

  1. yes I was glad for those days in the 80s with a north breeze. Saturday was a scorcher but a good breeze made it bearable. Today is rain. I'm hoping to get all the outdoor work done before the July / August HOT.
