Hello and Happy Sunday!

On the Home Front: It is Mother's Day, one of two days of the year that I do not cook, clean, or do jackshit around the house. I did the cleaning and Kyle bought Texas Roadhouse take out yesterday for Mother's Day so we'll have leftovers to nom on today. George bought me a special Earth Day bracelet from 4 Ocean and I know Trip bought me a wrist cuff from a website I showed him. I'll have pictures next weekend. At the time of this drafting (Sat night) I don't know if anyone else got me anything. I guess I'll see. No cake, though we'll probably get Krispy Kreme donuts.

Rained Monday so the skylights were put off until Tuesday. They had an emergency job to do in the morning so didn't show up until about noon. They were done and out of here by 3:00, so they were pretty fast. Unfortunately, it started to rain (and thundered!) as they were shingling around the 2nd skylight but then it cleared up. Go figure. We love the skylights and so far they don't appear to be leaking. Since I had to settle for non-tinted ones I joked that at a certain time of the day we could be taking a shit and get a suntan at the same time. LOLOL But only for a bit since mom is making me some curtains for them. I bought some of the tiniest tension rods I've ever seen and sent mom some sheer material. We'll see how those work. We want to filter the light some but still be able to see out the skylights. It's nice seeing the trees and sky.

Weds I picked up some liquid gold antibiotics (has to be for the price) for Nox since she does have a bacterial infection in her lungs, but may also have something fungal going on. Won't know about that for a couple more weeks since those cultures apparently grow slowly. Antibiotics for 2 weeks then a recheck by the vet specialist.

Kyle had to do OT for the week and since he didn't want to work until 4:30 pm he asked if he could go in early. Request was granted, so up at 3:30am each morning again this past week. I lasted through Weds, but even though I got up with them on Thurs and Fri I went back to bed and got back up at 8. Still was tired this week though. Since hubby drives them to work he also had to go in early even though he wasn't required to do OT. But his OT was approved so that's good. This coming week they'll go in only an hour early so we'll be up at 4:30am. Not sure it'll be worth going back to bed but I'll play it by ear.

Thursday Trip had his check up with his psychiatrist and we stopped at Joanne Fabrics for the skylight curtains material. We were going to work outside Friday but it kept looking like it was going to pour, so we waited and worked outside yesterday instead. We need to trim the feral greenery but it's supposed to rain tomorrow, so we'll get to it at some point this week as well as firing up the log splitter to split the hurricane tree and stack the firewood on our new racks under the deck.

To sum up, I'm tired. LOL

Touching Nature: Cooler and a bit rainy (on and off) this week.

Book News: I'm in a bit of a reading slump, mostly because I don't have a lot of time and when I do I'm too tired. I did manage to write 3 of 6 reviews.

Don't Touch That Dial!: Trip and I watched Iron Man 3, Thor:Dark World, and Captain America:Winter Soldier in our Marvel chronological rewatch. We all watched the debut of Star Wars: The Bad Batch on May the 4th Be With You and we'll watch the Friday episode today. Watched the Hurricanes, but since I was going to bed by 8:30 I only saw the 1st period of each game.

At the Flicks: Nothing this week.

Cyberspace Playground: Nope

Randomness: Or asks if you need anything.

  3. I hope the gold antibiotics fix the issue! Enjoy your day of relaxation and very smart getting take out yesterday! We tried to order takeout from a steak place today at around 4 and the wait was over 300 minutes. Needless to say we decided to try that another day! Happy Mother's Day and have a great week!
