Hello and Happy Sunday!

On the Home Front: Hubby works first shift now so my new normal is getting up at the asscrack of dawn. Or 5:30am. He asked if I went back to bed after he left for work and I'm like, no. I just get shit done. lol No naps either. We go to bed around 10pm-ish, so there's no need for a nap even if I could. I cannot nap. It makes me feel horrible.

Boone turned 5 on the 8th. Did I mention Kyleigh turned 7 on Feb 22nd? I can't remember anything anymore. Oh, yeah. Maybe I did mention Trip going to her party at the roller skating rink. lol Hubby and Trip are at Boone's party there now. I wonder if Trip will have the phantom skating feeling in his feet again? lol We had them for an overnight Friday so we gave him his presents and we had a joint cake for them to share since grandpa is home to celebrate with them both. Oliver's 1st birthday is in May. He's cutting teeth right now and is miserable. I think we're ready to have him overnight with Kyleigh and Boone. Good thing I kept the pack-n-play.

Vengeance is home after his jail time at the vet for biting Andrew. The Animal Control officer said there was no need for paperwork since he didn't test positive for rabies. So, I guess that's it? While the grandkiddos were over we kept V away from them, just in case. I think the next time we have them over I'll just send V to the Pet Lodge overnight. Then we can relax and not be on constant Red Alert and V can do the play groups there.

My 53rd birthday is this Friday. I think we'll order take out from Texas Roadhouse instead of trying to eat there. Hubby is in charge of the cake and he said he's going to make me a marble cake. This should be interesting. :D Since I normally do grocery pick up on Fridays (and Walmart has been awful lately), I think Trip and I will go Thursday and do it ourselves. Speaking of my birthday I really need to get my brother's card in the mail. You would think I would remember since I was born on his birthday (10 yrs later) but I always forget!

Anna got another tattoo and I want one now. Maybe two. I think I'm going to get a tiny teacup for one and the other will be something smallish and bookish. I'll need to call the lady Anna used on the 30th to book for April.

I'm really late getting this post up. I normally have it ready the night before, but oh well. I'm heading outside in a bit to start burning some brush while it's dry and the wind is calm. I also need to clean out my flowerbeds, prep my 5 gallon buckets, and get my feeders out for my tiny patrons. When hubby gets home from the party he's going to start working on the tractor. It needs a new head gasket. It's always something.

Touching Nature: I think I can say it's officially Spring here in NC. My daffodils are busting out all over the place. Finally. I had one plant that was blooming as far back as late January, but the others didn't start popping out until about a week ago. This image has the ones I liberated from the abandoned house next door. Why deplete my pretty stock when I can shop elsewhere? Amirite?

Book News: I DNF'd a book that I was really hoping would be super cool, but the writing was atrocious. I wrote 5 reviews leaving me with 2. However, I now have 5 to write. So...*shrugs*

Don't Touch That Dial!: Watched the Hurricanes, Batman Begins, and started the rewatch of Star Wars with hubby. We finished Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones. Next up is The Clone Wars.

At the Flicks: Nope

Cyberspace Playground: Nope

Randomness:  Me too, plants, me too.

Carol's Nuggets of Wisdom:

That's it for me. AVR News Update signing off. May all your books enthrall you.

  1. I can't believe Boone is 5. Like I remember waiting for him during my readathon, while you drank. lol I can't believe he is already 5, like WTF!

I am glad V was released from Jail and is home. Getting old sucks and makes you grumpy! I know because I am grumpy. :)

I hope you have an awesome week, Carol! Happy Reading! xx

  3. So sorry about the DNF. Yikes on the 5:30 am start. I roll out of bed at 8:30, put on my fuzzy slippers, get coffee and login to start my day by 9 on mornings I work, the other days Clayton or Hazel arrive at 9 and we have breakfast. I am a night owl though.
