Hello and Happy Sunday!
On the Home Front: Big news first: New grandson is here! Oliver Kole, born last evening at 6:45. 7 lbs 1 oz. All is well. He joins big sis Kyleigh (6) and big brother Boone (4). I'll share a photo when the parents have. Not sure when we'll get to meet him. Hopefully soon.
On to the mundane: I haven't really done much this week. I have been doing a bit of organizing: a little in the kitchen (still have some cupboards to go through), some in the bathroom, and I've been working on our bedroom for the last couple of days. I'm only partially done. Our bedroom has been a catch-all for all kinds of crap and I want it gone. I can put up with a lot for a long time and then I just snap. LOL But it's a big job. So I'll be working on finishing up that this coming week.
Hubby had a safety meeting at work on Thursday evening. The owner is joining other owners and suing the state of NC on Tuesday for the right to open their clubs. They have all kinds of protocols in place for the protection of employees and guests, so it makes sense if restaurants are now open at 50% capacity then clubs should, too. When hubby told me they could go back to work some time next week I said, "Nooooooo! I still have projects for you to do!" So, I need him to at least finish the new mailbox post this week. LOL
Touching Nature: Rain, rain, rain, and more rain. We worked outside burning brush and cutting trees Sunday and Monday and then the bottom fell out Monday night. We got 7" of rain from Monday night until Friday morning. The sun came out for a bit Friday and then it rained again, but no significant accumulation. It is now in the 80s and humid as fuck. Gross. It's supposed to rain again today and they're calling for more this week. This weather is so fucked up.
Book News: I had 11 reviews to write and I wrote 2. I have not finished any more books at this time. I'm back to being 8 books behind on my Goodreads challenge, but that's better than the 15 or so I was behind not too long ago.
Don't Touch That Dial!: Still watching hubby's Perry Mason DVDs in the evening. There are a LOT of them. We'll probably get back to Supernatural this coming week though.
At the Flicks: Nope
Cyberspace Playground: Nope
Randomness: Sometimes I buffer, sometimes I don't. lol
Carol's Nuggets of Wisdom: Yep. No gadabouts here. I don't care if our state is reopening shit up. I'm going to stay away from all that merry making. Of course, it's not so hard for me. I'd rather be at home anyway.

Congrats on the new grandbaby! Glad to hear everyone is well. When do you get to meet him? I'm sure with covid things are different.
ReplyDeleteLOL at your husband still having projects to do before he goes back to work! And I completely agree I'm not going to be running around catching things just cuz the state is opening up. I do think I'll be back at work in a couple weeks though. Have a great week and stay safe.
Thank you! Not sure when we'll get to meet him. Maybe in another couple of weeks. We'll play it by ear.
DeleteI was hoping he would get the mailbox post done but it's supposed to rain all week again. So unless the owners don't win, I'll have to wait on that project. lol
Congratulations!!!!!!! This is so exciting and welcome amidst all the doom and gloom news we got sonce months now!
ReplyDeleteThank you! It's baby fever here! lol
DeleteWelcome Oliver! Yeah, what happened? It was perfect weather and now it's warmer and rains 5 days a week? We will just be staying home, even if things are opening. I see too many people without masks and not taking any precautions. I hope I'm wrong about how it will get worse.
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely week and stay well!
Anne - Books of My Heart Here is my Sunday Post
Thank you!
DeleteI have no idea what happened. We were tripping right along with gorgeous weather (if a bit dry) and boom. Rain and then humid. With more of the same for this week?! Ugh!
I have a feeling it is only going to get worse (I hope not) so I'm staying far away from the idiots.
I am so in agreement with Samuel Pepys. Home I stay!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on grandbaby Oliver! How exciting. Welcome, Oliver! <3
Have a great week!
My Sunday post.
Yep. I'm enjoying the Walmart pick up option so I'm going to continue using that. I still go to BJ's for my bulk stuff and maybe once a week to Food Lion. I wear a mask and try to stay away from people as well as going when it's not so busy. Hopefully that will be enough.
DeleteThanks! We're itching to see him, but we'll wait.
