--- AVR News Update ---
Hello and Happy Sunday!

On the Home Front: Busy, busy, busy, but with nothing to really report. Don't you hate that? I had to take Kyle to the podiatrist because he inherited his dad's toes and needed an ingrown toenail taken care of. If you were with me last year, I may have mentioned that Trip had to have both toes done. Twice. Poor guy. Anyway, the guys have had ingrowns and Anna & I had plantar fasciitis. One foot for her (better with meds), both for me way back in the 2000s finally resulting in surgery for both feet. The Dr. has now seen all of us and when I said he did my surgery in 2003, Kyle was 3 and he was like, "We're old!" Yep. LOL

In other news, I still haven't put up my Halloween decorations! GAH!!! That's unheard of! I usually get them up the last weekend of September. Hopefully, I'll get at least some of them up today.

Touching Nature: 70º days have prevailed. Yay! Still need rain pretty badly, but at least it's cooler. I mowed yesterday. Unless we get some serious rain that's probably the last time for this year. It won't be long before Leafageddon commences and I start battling the leafy horde with my trusty sidekick, Backpack Blower. I'm already starting to see invaders, but not enough to engage. Yet.

Book News: I have nothing new to report here. I am in a serious drought of non-reading. I've just been too busy to sit and read for any length of time. That better change soon as I'm getting very very cranky about it.

Don't Touch That Dial!: Finished season 1 of Dexter and started season 2. Man, I hate his sister. Just die already. Watched the Browns fuck up Monday Night Football. FFS. At least the Carolina Hurricanes are off to a great start.

At the Flicks: The guys saw Joker. I went rug shopping. I was in desperate need of rugs for the laundry room. They were literally falling apart. They enjoyed the movie, I got some rugs I really like and then we had custard at Freddy's. Win-win.

Cyberspace Playground: Nope

Randomness:
Carol's Nuggets of Wisdom: There are times when you have to dance to someone else's tune. You may like the music or you may not, so be sure to have your own playlist ready for when it's your turn.

That's it for me. AVR News Update signing off. May all your books enthrall you.

  1. Crazy right?! How busier my week, how less I seem to have to share on the Sunday Post! LOL!
I'll try to send some rain your way!! Here it has been raining pretty much every single day.
Have a great week and happy reading!

  2. My feet are a mess, I have an issue at the moment and I know I will have to go to the doctor and I don't want too because I think I'll need surgery but I am not sure i can wait much long.

My decorations went up last weekend. For some reason I am not in a very holiday mood and that totally scares me. I think its the anxiety but I am really trying for the kids.

I would have picked Rugs over the Joker too! ;)

Have an awesome week, Carol! Happy Reading! xx

    1. I've been having an issue with my left foot for weeks now. After I mowed the last time, the top outside part has been killing me. It feels better when I get up in the morning so logically I know it'll get better if I stay off it, but who has time for that?! Just go to a podiatrist and see what's going on. Maybe you just need a cortisone shot. Plus, your anxiety will go down once you have an answer. At least, that's my hope for you. *fingers crossed*

I will get at least a few up today. The problem here is I have to clean some of the clutter away to put them up and I just haven't felt like it. lol But I'll make it happen.

They guys said it was a good movie, but I'll wait until it comes out on DVD. I really needed those rugs. lol

      Thanks, Michelle! XOXO

  3. We have also been having plenty of rain this past week. Sorry to hear about the feet. I know ingrown toenails are incredibly painful and people always seem to think issues with feet are somehow funny...

Hope the coming week is a good one - with maybe a chance to sit down and read!

  5. Win- win indeed!
I didn’t get very far in Dexter, I’m binging on an old Australian police procedural show.

Wishing you a great reading week

  6. I've been struggling to fit reading in too and I'm 100% with you on it making you cranky! I'm hoping to get some good reading in this week!

I only watching S1 of Dexter and I quite enjoyed it but I can't remember why I didn't continue... I hope you enjoy S2!

  7. Busy weeks where I can't really report ANYTHING are pretty frustrating, so I feel for you. And man, I can really appreciate the foot situation - I also have plantar faciitis. For me, inserts seem to have done the trick but I'm "young" yet. I think I'd prefer plantar faciitis over an in grown nail though!

I hope you get some real reading time this week!!! :)
