Top 5 Reasons You'll Love Seth
Hello! Thank you for joining me! I'm very excited to be here at I'm A Voracious Reader celebrating the release of DEATH OF DARKNESS, the latest book in my Immortal Guadians series. If you like powerful preternatural heroes, strong heroines, action scenes that will keep you flipping pages well past your bedtime, and romance that is alternately steamy and sweet and laced with humor, then I hope you’ll pick up a copy, because you’ll find all of this in Seth and Leah’s story. And don’t worry if you’re new to the series. Each book can be read as a stand-alone novel. You’ll just know more about the secondary characters if you read the books in order.
Today I thought I would help you get to know Seth, the hero of DEATH OF DARKNESS and self-proclaimed leader of my Immortal Gaurdians family, by givning you five reasons Leah falls in love with him...along with some snippets from the story that I hope will pique your interest.
1
He’s tall, dark, and handsome.
With the folded garments balanced on one hand, she left the
guest room and detoured down the hallway to raise the temperature on the
thermostat. She was freezing.
Seth probably was too with all that long wet hair.
She tapped on the bathroom door. “Ready for clothes?”
The door swung inward.
Leah stared. “Holy crap.” Seth was naked, save for a towel
he had wrapped around his hips. And his body was pure perfection. His arms and
legs both bore beautiful, thick muscle. But not too thick like some of the bodybuilders
she’d seen whose arms and legs were so bulky they couldn’t rest their arms
against their sides and seemed to walk bowlegged. Seth was built more like a
professional basketball player. Broad shoulders. A well-developed chest. Even
his abs rippled with muscle and begged to be touched.
Realizing she had been staring—aka
drooling—she looked up at him. “Seriously, how are you still single?”
2
He loves strong women.
Seth donned his usual black cargo pants and T-shirt. While
he tugged on his boots, Leah drew on another set of hunting clothes she’d
borrowed from the extensive wardrobe David kept on hand for immortals and their
Seconds. She enjoyed seeing little sparks of desire enter Seth’s dark brown
eyes when he saw her dressed like one of his warriors. He definitely admired
strong women.
3
He’s passionate.
A growl rumbled forth from him as lunged toward her.
Laughing, Leah planted both hands on his chest to keep him
at arms’ length. “Nope. You’ll have to wait for it. You need to eat.” She
winked. “Trust me. You’re going to need the energy.”
Looping an arm around her waist, he pulled her against him
and dipped his head. His lips claimed hers in a scorching kiss she felt all the
way to her core. His tongue slipped inside to stroke her own. Fire raced
through her, stealing her breath. Burying her hands in his hair, she urged him
closer, moaning when he slipped a thigh between hers.
Seth drew one hand down to cup her ass and lifted her so she
could wrap her legs around him. “Still want that sandwich?” he asked, nipping
the sensitive skin beneath her ear with his teeth.
Leah fisted his hair and drew his head back so she could
stare into his luminous eyes. “Screw the food,” she uttered hoarsely.
Laughing, he strode toward the
bathroom.
4
He has a very appealing sense of humor.
Raising their clasped hands, she turned them so his was on
top and slid her free hand over it. “Oooh. Look how big your hand is.”
How many times had he heard Tracy or one of the other mortal
women he frequently encountered think Oooh.
Look how big his hands are. You know
what they say: big hands, big feet, big package in much the same tone as
Leah’s.
Seth couldn’t help it. He barked out a laugh.
Leah’s eyes widened. “Wait. I didn’t mean that the way it
sounded.”
“It sounded as if you like that my hands are so big.”
She flushed. “I do, but I didn’t mean it like you think.”
“How do I think you meant it?” he asked with exaggerated
innocence.
Face red, she laughed. “Stop making me blush. I just meant I
like that you’re so big. Not just your hands. But all over.” Again her eyes
widened. “I mean, not ALL over, but—”
Laughing, he took pity on her. “It’s all right. I understood
what you meant the first time.”
Smiling, she squinted up at him. “You like to tease, don’t
you?”
“Guilty as charged.” Many immortals did. It helped lighten
what could otherwise be a dark existence.
5
He’s honest.
He took so much upon
himself to try to spare others.
When she would’ve loosened her hold to look up at him, he
tightened his arms around her.
“Let me hold you a little longer,” he whispered.
Nodding, she relaxed against him.
Several minutes passed while they just held each other.
“You make everything better, Leah,” he murmured.
Warmth burrowed through her
chest, straight to her heart. “You do, too.”
Seth has led the Immortal Guardians for thousands of years. With them fighting by his side, he has protected humans from psychotic vampires, defeated corrupt mercenary armies, defended military bases under attack, and more. But the latest enemy to rise against the Immortal Guardians has proven to be a formidable one, wielding almost as much power as Seth. His goal is simple. He wants to watch the world burn. And he will use every means at his disposal to accomplish it. Seth and his Immortal Guardians have succeeded thus far in staving off Armageddon despite heartbreaking losses. But they have never before faced such danger. Seth has only one wish: to protect his Immortal Guardians family and ensure the continuation of humanity by defeating his foe. But then Leah walks into his life and sparks a new desire.
Leah Somerson has suffered losses of her own. It has taken her a long time to rebuild her life and find some semblance of peace. Then one night a tall, dark, powerful immortal with what appears to be the weight of the world on his shoulders stumbles into her shop, and everything changes. Peace and contentment are no longer enough. Now she wants more. She wants to find happiness. She wants to erase the darkness in Seth’s eyes and replace it with love and laughter. She knows he’s different in ways that make most fear him. Even some of his immortal brethren keep a careful distance. But Leah will not. Nor will she shy away when danger strikes.
