--- AVR News Update ---
Hello and Happy Sunday!

On the Home Front: Remember last week when I said I didn't have any appts for anyone this week? And I assumed it would be a quiet week? Hahahahahaha! Ok, so I got the go ahead from the bank for an auto loan, so I started shopping. I found a car the same day and we went to look at it the next day. Then there was paperwork and more paperwork and working around Anna and hubby's schedules because the loan will be in her name with hubby as the co-buyer. Long story short, we brought the car home Friday. Woot! We also got haircuts. Finally! Holy fuck it feels good to have my bangs out of my eyes.
Anna's 2010 Honda Civic replaces her 2001 Nissan Maxima.

In other news, my windows have had some cobwebs on them (on the outside) for months now. I'm not the world's greatest housekeeper (I do at least keep up with laundry, dishes, mopping and vacuuming), but I figured, hell, they're outside so whatever. Well, it was so nice this week (see Touching Nature below) and I was getting super sick of seeing them, that I finally cleaned them off. Man, the windows look nice now! Why don't I do this shit more often? Oh, yeah. I hate cleaning, that's why. LOL

Touching Nature: So this past week has been gorgeous. Mostly. It was in the upper 60s/70s most days and then it was 80 on Thurs. WTF?! I spent a couple days burning old wood and brush out in the firepit. Just trying to get things tidied, so we can plan out our garden. We haven't had much success growing things because we live in the woods and are surrounded by trees which means not enough sunlight for most veggies. We're hoping moving the location helps.

Book News: I have one review to write. I'm back to reading very little. Uggggghhhhh!

Don't Touch That Dial!: Watched a few more episodes of season 2 of The Punisher with hubby (we have two left), but locking down the car took several days, so that was it. So while I was off doing my thing, he and Trip got caught up on the new season of The Blacklist which I don't watch. Yet.

At the Flicks: Nope

Cyberspace Playground: Nope

Randomness:

Carol's Nuggets of Wisdom: I'm going to share a nugget of wisdom that is so hard, nigh impossible, to achieve, but I promise, if you do, you will feel better. You cannot live your life for anyone but yourself. That doesn't mean you are a selfish prick. It means you live for you (YOUR choices: school, career, relationships, religion, political party, etc etc etc) not your family, friends, co-workers, spouse, best friend, etc. Once you master this without constant guilt (there may be some residual effects for awhile) then you can live for others as you see fit. So, so, SO tough to do, but worth it. And I'm not saying it's bad to compromise, but don't do it at your own expense (i.e. making yourself miserable, uncomfortable, or resentful).

That's it for me. AVR News Update signing off. May all your books enthrall you.

    1. It's an unusual color for a Honda. Not many out there, but we definitely like it. Anna's happy to have her own car again. She's been using our back up vehicle, the 1997 Accord which is a kinda shitty car, but it runs. lol

    1. We're happy with it. Now, it just needs to run for 5 yrs or more with no major issues. LOL

  3. I love your new car! I have been car shopping lately. I'm hoping with some of the income tax that I get myself a car because mine is falling apart. I can totally relate to the cleaning part. I mainly keep our rooms and kitchen/living room cleaned but my mother in law and I don't really do a whole lot more than that. I want to tackle the garage this year but just the thought of that makes me tired. I love your nugget of wisdom! That is something I've been working on. I hope you have a wonderful week.

    1. Good luck on the car shopping!

I need to do a complete overhaul of our house and sheds. We've lived here 18+ yrs and it's past time to clean out. We did do a clean out in 2010 when I painted half the house. We rented a POD and cleaned out the rooms completely, painted, then bought new bedroom furniture for the kids, kept some things, and donated the rest to Hospice.

  4. I enjoyed that weather but instead of cleaning (which I have those cobwebs too but they match the Halloween decorations still on the door, so WTH) I rode the Harley to yoga class. I have a Chevy Volt that color of blue which I got used last January. My reading is going well enough but tv never gets top priority, I end up listening to an audiobook instead.

Have a great week! I hope you find a wonderful read. Anne - Books of My Heart

    1. The weather was great. Too bad it didn't stay in the 60s/low 70s. lol Yay for being warm enough to ride the Harley though. Woot!

  5. Congrats on the new car! If I had a car, it would be blue. I like your wisdom. It’s very true and very hard! I have a lot of people in my life who pressure me to do thing their way.

  6. Yay for everyone having wheels and you being able to see. I am growing my bangs out after 50+ years and I gotta tell you, it was so freaking worth the summer from hell last year! Look at me commenting on Sunday Posts...it took me a week and a ton of meds but here I am. Glad to see you doing well. Our weather sucks. That. Is. All.

    1. I think I've always had bangs, but I cannot stand it when they get into my eyes. If I don't have time to swing by and get them cut I just do it myself. And I don't care if they look like shit. LOL

I'm glad you stopped by! It means you should be on the mend. But keep resting! That's an order. *shakes finger sternly*
