Kimber Treat is a
necromancer of some skill and power and in high demand. One night when doing a
routine raising to find out who killed the victim in front of her, something
goes horribly wrong and the zombie apocalypse begins.
I have to tell you, this
story sorta feels like Anita Blake fanfic. A powerful necromancer with a
vampire admirer and cop friend plus zombies. There’s just enough different to
set it apart, but the writing could use some work and the characters are pretty
shallow. Plus, they do really stupid shit. Writing up this review a week after
reading it and I can’t remember anything outstanding about the book. It’s only
so-so.
