My Rating ~ 4 bites and a nibble

When human bones are discovered in an animal shelter cremation oven Al Quinn, retired detective, gets called to the scene. Before he leaves he adopts Tanner, a dog that only had two days left before being euthanized. Before the day is done, Al realizes that Tanner, and this case, are nothing like they seem on the surface.

I started reading this series before I started watching NCIS (I had to wait until it finally came to Netflix), but now I realize that Al is a lot like Gibbs. Badass, older, hot guys with a stubborn streak who have a penchant for getting to the truth and can usually take care of themselves and those around them. No wonder I love them both so much!

With mystery, danger, action, great characters, motley crew, and Tanner the awesome dog what’s not to love about this book? Not much. The only sour note I have is Cam’s attitude at the end. It was really hard to swallow after her behavior the entire book. So…other than that, I love, love, love this addition to the Al Quinn series!
