--- AVR News Update ---
Hello and Happy Sunday!
2016 is now 83% uploaded.

Also, today makes...
*faints*

On the Home Front: Had the grandkiddos Tuesday. We're trying to take them one day a week to give April's mom a break from watching them. Hubby took vacation Mon & Tues then found out the plant was shutting down for the rest of the week, so instead of working F-S-S this weekend, he doesn't have to go back to work until Weds 11/9. Yes, his schedule is weird. He works 2 days one week and 5 the next. This was his long week with his schedule M-T-F-S-S. Next week he'll work W-TH. And there's a possibility they may close the plant again Thanksgiving week, so he'd have W-TH (yes, they made people work on Thanksgiving last year, the first time EVER) off that week plus he scheduled vacation for the 28th & 29th. With his scheduled days off, vacation days taken and unscheduled plant closure he'll only work a few days in Nov. :D

We did not vote early last Sunday. Hubby wants to go on election day, so we'll be taking Anna with us (she's 19) Tues after her first class but before her noon class. I hope there's not a long line.

Thursday is the Marine Corps birthday and Friday is Veteran's Day. Hubby is off for it this year, so he intends to drive around to places giving away free stuff and gorge himself. *rolls eyes*

Touching Nature: Nothing here. Though Battle II of Leafageddon is imminent. I could have started it yesterday, but April and the grandkiddos came over for a visit in the afternoon. And we'll have the grandkiddos again tomorrow after our eye doctor appts. So, I either get out there this morning or I wait until after voting Tues.

Book News: I have 1 InD'tale review book down and 4 to go. Before Nov. 10th. GAH! In other news, it's NetGalley November and the books I've read months ago are finally getting their day in the sun. Or on the blog. Whichever. I'm worried I won't get a few more read before the 17th since that's the last review I have. I have books picked out, but none started yet. Time to settle down and finish my InD'tale books. *cracks knuckles*

Don't Touch That Dial!: A few NCIS, but nothing else on Netflix. On the other hand, we watched all of the World Series. I may have had several mild heart attacks and/or an occasional stroke. I was definitely sleep deprived for most of the week. And then heartbroken that the Indians lost.
But congrats to the Cubs for finally breaking their gazillion year losing streak.

At the Flicks: Nothing yet. Though I'd like to see Fantastic Beasts and Trip is dying for Rogue One.

Cyberspace Playground: This. Because reasons. But it's also funny.
If Congress was your co-worker...

Randomness: This is me. Always.

Carol's Nuggets of Wisdom: Don't ever let anyone tell you your hobby is dumb. It has meaning to you and that's all that matters. Ever. Now, if you collect belly button lint, boogers, or your kidney stones, I can get behind your desire for that hobby, but I have absolutely no wish to see your collection. Ever. Just sayin'.

That's it for me. AVR News Update signing off. May all your books enthrall you.

  2. 1000 posts! Holy smacks! Congratulations. We didn't vote early either. My husband is the same way about wanting to go on election day. We live in a smaller area, and they are quite efficient about getting people through the line. I hope you make it through easily enough.
Love your wisdom, and couldn't agree more.

  3. I 100% can't wait to see what you think of Priest. We can chat when you are done reading it!!!
YAY! Grandkiddos! It must be so much fun to hang with them and then at the end of the day give them back. :) I get excited when the kids go outside, it's like peace for at least an hour.

Have a great week, Carol! Happy Reading! ox

  8. Your Sunday posts are always fun to read! Congrats on the 1000 posts! I mailed in my ballot. I'm really nervous about this election!! I hope everyone takes the time to vote. You're husband is funny about the free stuff. I used to do that for our birthdays but I was sad this year that IHOP didn't offer free breakfast anymore lol. I hope he gets a lot of free goodies. Have a great week!!

  9. 1000 posts!! Wow! Congrats. I have no idea how many I have but I doubt I'm even close to that. Good luck at the polls - I early voted because I know the polls will be insane in voting day here. How cool that Anna's first time voting is for such a controversial election. No matter what, it'll be historic and she gets to be part of it for her first time. See how I'm trying to be positive and ignore the scary part of this election? :)
    Good luck with leafageddon! {Hugs}
