AVR News Update
Hello and Happy Sunday!

On the Home Front: Trip, my 16-yr-old, is taking Driver's Ed now that the school has the funding back. That means he has to stay M-TH until 6:45. Which means I take the boys and Jessica to school at 8:30, go back at noon to pick up Jessica, pick up Kyle at 4:00 and Trip at 6:45. Three more weeks of this. Joy. We've decorated for Halloween and my baby boy's 15th birthday was Weds.
Happy Birthday Kyle!
No, I did not make this cake. I wish I was that talented. This is just a pic I pulled from the Mighty Google®. However, I will be making some nommies later this afternoon since I will need the oven to make dinner. If I'm going to heat the kitchen might as well make it worth it. Oh, yeah! I did make a cake last Sunday. I have no idea what the name is, but it's white cake, sweetened condensed milk, strawberry glaze and Cool Whip. It's nommylicious. Though next time I may leave off the sweetened condensed milk. It tends to make the cake a bit gooey where it drips down the sides.

Touching Nature: We finally got some nice weather Tues through Friday and just when I thought I would need to run the mower over the weeds/lawn (& leaves) one more time it rained yesterday. So, next week I'll need to do that and probably get the leaf blower out. Also, the acorns have been falling. They make quite the racket. And they're a pain in the ass.

Book News: I suggested two book purchases to my library and they're buying them. That makes me 13 for 13. Boom! *ahem* With great power comes great responsibility. I will choose my next suggestions wisely. Maybe. I have not advanced on my NetGalley reads yet, but I hope to get rolling on those next week. I'm currently 25 books behind on my challenge, but the graphic novels from the library (see list below) should put a dent in that number. I have all but 1 post ready to go for the rest of this month. I may change it to something else and that will complete my October schedule.

Don't Touch That Dial!: Too busy with book-related things for tv this week although Trip & I continue to watch an episode of Bones every school morning.

At the Flicks: Nada though Anna and her boyfriend saw The Martian and loved it.

Cyberspace Playground: I had some time while I was eating on Friday and watched some new YouTube subscription uploads that I had been saving.
Omg, RackaRacka loves to make gory shit (that's also funny), so be warned. lol

Randomness:
And Buffy "broke" Angel. lol

That's it for me. AVR News Update signing off. May all your books enthrall you.
Shelf Additions
From the library
Ok, so I may have developed a slight addiction to graphic novels.

  5. Happy Birthday to Trip! My daughter passed the permit test so now we have to sign her up for driver's training. I'm not looking forward to this at all (being worried about her driving and the expensive car insurance). But we can't stop them from growing up lol. You have a great book haul this week and I hope you enjoy them all. Have a good week!

  6. You weren't kidding about graphic novels- great haul of those. I haven't read any lately, I need to get back into some. And good to hear The Martian is good- I don't think I've seen one bad review (of book or movie).

MPM was fun- the guy and the tentacle thing. LOL!

  7. I am trying to get into graphic novels, I got the Dresden one to review and at first I wasn't so sure about it but then I looked up how to read them and things are going a bit better. :) So I might venture out and try another one. :)

Started Murdock Mysteries all over again since they added four new seasons finally, so can't wait to get to the new seasons. :) Loving the new seasons of my favorite shows too like NCIS,NCIS:NO, Castle, etc. :)

    Have a great week!

  9. Happy Birthday to Trip! I have to laugh at your graphic novel addiction. I'm sorry, I know several people who love them. :D

I picked up Grizzly and Paws and Claws. I had a couple of the others already. One of these days I am going to start reading Neil Gaiman!

  10. I like the sound of your cake. It might not be as 'pretty' as the top one but probably yummier (and that's what's important!).
