Hello and Happy Sunday!

On the Home Front

Sunday ~ Mother's Day. I did as little as possible and read a favorite book. Texas Roadhouse leftovers.

Monday ~ Back to the grind. Worked on the blog. Waded through emails. Blah, blah, blah. Texas Roadhouse leftovers.

Tuesday ~ Folded a ton of towels that Anna washed and dried over the weekend. Did stuff. Don't really remember what. But there is always shit to do around here. Anna had an appt so I had to pick Kyle up after work.

Wednesday ~ Trip dental app't in the morning, Kyle app't in the afternoon. I feel like I've been in the car all day driving or sitting waiting. But I finished an audiobook and nearly finished another. May have had a little nap, too.

Thursday ~ Grocery shopping and then all that entails (carrying in and putting away). Worked on the blog's Friday post. Then I had to pick up Kyle at Anna's therapy app't after work. Popcorn chicken and potato crowns for dinner for the kids. I had tomato soup and crackers.

Friday ~ Worked outside. Trip did the weed eating while I was doing some other things, like pressure washing then spray painting the spring chair I liberated from Irene's place and moving some gravel to low spots in the driveway and a few scoops over by the equipment shed. Then I had him move the extra block to the storage area and pick up piles of weeds and leaves. We raked the gravel smooth and fed the critters. I cleaned and filled the bird baths. I mowed. Put a 2nd coat of paint on the chair. I fixed a bird feeder and put a gasket in the spray handle of my hose. Mississippi Pot Roast and rice for dinner. Flipped the chair over and put a first coat on the back just as it was getting dark.

Saturday ~ After the usual morning chores I put a second coat of paint on the back side of the chair then got started on the cleaning. Also changed my bedstuff. In the afternoon, the wasband showed up to pick up some of his wood working equipment.  Timothy, Summer, and the kids came to help him carry stuff into the Uhaul. Timothy also put the tires on my mom's trailer. The boys and I just need to get it in the shed now. Yay! Then Timothy, Summer, and the wasband did some target practice. I gave them 250 9mm rounds in exchange for Timothy's help with the tires. After they left, I finished the cleaning and showered then watched The Closer while I ate. That's why I'm working on this post at nearly 11:00pm.

Today I intend to work in the kitchen today after I make a quick run to Food Lion. I have my big beautiful island to tidy up, put away all my pet food purchases (pet store, PetSmart, Chewy), bake banana bars and maybe banana bread, and I think I'll make 3 lbs of bacon. I might make a bacon quiche for dinner. I also need to feed the critters and refill the feeders for the Tiny Patrons.

New Year's Resolutions/Goals
I thought I'd keep a weekly record of these so I can see if anything is getting done. 😆
More reading, less tv ~ Not really though I went through several audios.
Go back to the beginning and revamp old blog posts ~ Nothing this week.
Exercise ~ Only working outside.
Tidy up outside ~ Yes. Did some of that.

Touching Nature:  An absolutely gorgeous week.

Book News:  Still not a lot to report here.

Don't Touch That Dial!: Nearly done with The Closer. I'm not sure I want to watch Major Crimes. We'll see.

At the Flicks: Nope.

Cyberspace Playground: Wordle, Word Lots, Crossword Jam, Solitaire, the Finch app - if anyone wants to be friends just let me know.

Randomness:

Carol's Nuggets of Wisdom: Napping is good for you. You'll probably need to experiment to see how long a nap is refreshing and how long makes you wake up thinking you slept through the alarm and you're late for school. Except I graduated in 1986. lol Or just makes you groggy the rest of the day which is so much worse than being sleepy, imho. Typically, a 20 minute power nap is good for me as long as it's way before dinner time. I never used to be able to nap. It took practice, but it's gotten easier and it feels good.

That's it for me. AVR News Update signing off. May all your books enthrall you.
