Hello and Happy Sunday!

On the Home Front

Sunday ~ Finished the cleaning. Puttered around. Read. Watched tv.

Monday ~ Since Anna and I were going to strip her bed and spin her mattress 180º yesterday, but were too lazy to do it, I got started on it. I had the last load in the dryer by the time 3:00 rolled around (yes, she has tons of blankets and pillows as well as 2 comforters) and I needed to leave to drop the Pilot off at the mechanics so Anna and Kyle could pick me up on the way home. The mechanics were having a hard time finding tires for my mom's trailer. Since it was completely homemade (by grandpa and dad) over 50 years ago it apparently had tractor tires. A size which is no longer made. Of course. In addition, the rims were really rusty. Not just surface rust. So they found some tires that should work and rims to go with them.

Tuesday ~ Pilot didn't get done today. And the tires/rims didn't show up. I was going to work outside today, but was paralyzed by lethargy. Dinner was tacos for Taco Tuesday/Cinco De Mayo.

Wednesday ~ Trip and I worked on the pavers for the recycling cans. It looked like it would rain at any moment, but held off until we were done. Then I showered and had lunch. I read for awhile in my chair, but fell asleep for a bit. Anna took me to get the Pilot after she brought Kyle home from work. The trailer tires did come in, but the hub was not quite big enough to go on my axle. So, they are going to work on them tomorrow. I love mom's trailer. It's sturdy and heavy and the welds are still excellent today (thanks grandpa! he was a welder for Goodyear), but these wheels have been a bit of a pain. lol On the way home I picked up Chinese food at Happy Garden. Anna picked up Japanese food then went to Chris's house. I finished a tour book then watched The Closer.

This area isn't done yet. There's more to do.
But good for now. lol

Thursday ~ Rain! All day rain! We needed it SO bad. Timothy texted that the tires are ready. Yay! Andrew from the contractor came by to do the recaulk of the kitchen cabinets and a few other small things. I picked his brain (not literally) on how to hang things on the equipment shed walls. They used 2x4s as a cross brace and I was trying to figure out how to work around those. But Andrew had an idea that I think will work. So, that project can move up the list. Left at 3:00 to pick up Kyle from Anna's therapy. Luckily, right by the mechanics, so I picked up the trailer tires. Leftover Chinese for dinner.

Friday ~ Trip and I did the grocery shopping and had lunch at DQ where we also picked up a Blizzard cake. I don't like ice cream cake, so it's not for Mother's Day. Kyle racks up a lot of points going there every day after work, so as the points start to expire we get a cake with them. He had something like 17,000 before I got the cake. Picked up those mini Mom donuts at Krispy Kreme, mini cupcakes at BJ's, and a carrot cake at Food Lion as well as some salty snacks. George's Mother's Day present arrived - chocolate-covered strawberries from Shari's Berries. YUM! I'm set for Mother's Day. Finished off the Chinese food for dinner.

Saturday ~ Did a quick cleaning because I wanted to shower and get in my jammies for an early start to Mother's Day. I had the cleaning done and the food at Texas Roadhouse ordered for 2:30 pick up by 11:45 am. Boom! Signing off to be lazy the rest of the day. Ok, totally lazy after I pick up our food. Before that, only slightly lazy.

Today  I plan to lounge around, read, and eat my snacks and Texas Roadhouse leftovers. At some point after noon we'll go get ice cream down the street.

New Year's Resolutions/Goals
I thought I'd keep a weekly record of these so I can see if anything is getting done. 😆
More reading, less tv ~ Not really though I went through several audios.
Go back to the beginning and revamp old blog posts ~ Nothing this week.
Exercise ~ Only working outside.
Tidy up outside ~ Yes. Did some of that.

Touching Nature:  Cooler and rainy.

Book News:  Not much going on here. Still haven't written reviews. Eek

Don't Touch That Dial!: The Closer. Just started Season 5.

At the Flicks: Nope.

Cyberspace Playground: Wordle, Word Lots, Crossword Jam, Solitaire, the Finch app - if anyone wants to be friends just let me know.

Randomness:   And even that may be debatable.

Carol's Nuggets of Wisdom: Occasionally, it's good to sit by a creek. Or any body of water, really. Even if it's just a water fountain of some kind. Close your eyes for 5 minutes and just sit. And listen. If there are other people around, eavesdrop. You never know what great story you'll have to tell later.

That's it for me. AVR News Update signing off. May all your books enthrall you.
