Hello and Happy Sunday!

On the Home Front

Sunday ~ I did blog work, did some blog visiting, brushed the dogs and Eevee, and helped Anna put away her clean clothes.

Monday ~ Took Kyle to work. In the morning Trip and I stopped at Food Lion for ribeyes and dropped a package off at Goin' Postal for Anna. Then we picked the grandkiddos and was busy with them through Wednesday. Made eggs for lunch. Made boiled eggs in the Instant Pot then made chicken for the dogs. Popcorn chicken and potato crowns for dinner.

Tuesday ~ Took Kyle to work. Made eggs for brunch. Kyleigh and I worked on the craft area and got quite a bit done. Still have some work to do there but it's shaping up. Domino's for dinner.

Wednesday ~ Took Kyle to work. Artemis had a 9:40 app't for eye pressure check. All good. Made eggs for breakfast. I think I've gone through almost 3 dozen eggs so far this week. lol Took the grandkiddos home around 2:00. They wanted to stay longer. I don't blame them. They have room to move around here. They're living with their mawmaw and mom while she files for divorce and the house is tiny with a small yard in town. They're looking for a house, but the market is expensive as we all know. Plus, Uncle Trip is fun apparently. lol Came home and cleaned the living room. The area rug got sweet tea spilled on it last night. Trip sopped it up but it needed washed so I had him put it in the back of the Pilot. We moved furniture around so I could sweep and mop then we put it back. Washed all the blankets and pillowcases, too.  I pulled up the rug by the front door and the pad under the dog dishes to go to the laundromat, too. Leftovers for dinner.

Thursday ~ Took Kyle to work and picked him up after since Anna had a 4:00pm appointment. Did some stuff on the computer then woke Trip up to go do errands and groceries. Stopped first at the laundromat to wash the rugs in the super washer. Discovered the place had sold or something because now it's a Royal Clean and no more quarters. You have to buy (for $1.00!) a laundry card and load it with money for the machines. And the super washers, which used to be $4 then went up to $6 the last time I was there, are now $8.25!!! Holy fucking shit. The dryers used to be .25 for 7 minutes then it was .25 for 6 minutes is now .60 a minute. I think. I didn't use the dryers because fuck that shit. I brought the rugs home and draped them over the back deck rails. Anyway, after there we dropped off Kyleigh's craft box she forgot at the house then hit Harbor Freight, had lunch at Blue Ribbon, Lowe's, the car wash, TSC, and BJ's when a text from Anna reminded me that we didn't have all day to dally like I thought. I needed to pick up Kyle at 3:00. Yikes! We skipped Five Below (I needed some charging cords) and Food Lion and went home. I was going to make a ham quiche for dinner but was too tired. I declared a Fend For Yourself day. I had soup. The boys baked a frozen pizza. I can't remember what Anna ate.

Friday ~ Took Kyle to work. Using the Kubota, Trip and I dispersed the landscape blocks and pavers I had ordered from Lowe's to the places I needed them. Fed the critters and smoothed out the gravel where I park the Pilot. That's where the gravel pile had been, but Hunter used it for the equipment shed. There was still a bit there making it kinda lumpy, so I pulled it with the bucket of the Kubota and Trip and I smoothed it more with rakes. Then we hit CVS for Rx and Food Lion for some groceries. We also picked up a rotisserie chicken and some mac-n-cheese for a late lunch. Delicious! I think Food Lion puts crack or something in their chicken. It is SO good! 🤣 I made the ham quiche for dinner, but didn't have any myself. I wasn't that hungry. Chris spent the night so Anna and he were watching The Two Towers. I went to bed at 9:30. I was exhausted.

Saturday ~ No OT for Anna. Yay! It's Family Day for ABB (Kyle and Anna's employer-oh, and Chris's, too lol), so Anna, Chris, and Trip went to it and invited April and the grandkiddos. Kyle didn't want to go and I had stuff to do. I planted my flowers out in my flower boxes, put the steaks in the marinade, cleaned my bathroom, put all the kitchen rugs out on the porch, had Kyle help me move the shoe stand, moved Artemis's crate and the other shoe bench out of the way then swept and mopped the area. Put the clean rugs down, had Kyle help me move the shoe stand back then put other stuff back. Swept and mopped kitchen then put those rugs back when it was dry. Put the area rug back in the living room and cleaned off the drop leaf table. April and the kids dropped Trip off (then he helped Kyle replace the one panel on the patio table with one that matched from the new box then Kyle and I boxed the one to go back and Trip put it in the Pilot), but Anna and Chris didn't get back until about 4:30. By then I was past ready for Anna to help do litterboxes in the laundry room. Put the hallway and laundry room rugs on the deck rails, pulled out the litterboxes, changed out the pads, swept, cleaned the boxes after they were dumped, Anna dried them, I filled them, and she put them back. Mopped and then put rugs back after everything was dry. Kyle was getting ready to grill the steaks, so I put the potatoes in the microwave, told Anna to check them when they were done, and I hit the shower. Ah! So good to be clean! I came out to see the food was ready. Yay! Ate dinner, did the dishes, changed the sheets on my bed, and worked on this post even though Anna and Chris are watching The Return of the King. That's what I get for not updating every day. 😭 Oh, yeah, it was also Community Day on Pokemon (Tinkatink), so I played that while doing all the other stuff. Went to bed after 11.

Today I would like to relax. I say that every Sunday. I will most likely not relax. Or maybe I will. Though I have a feeling I just might organize the hall closet. Finally. We'll see.

New Year's Resolutions/Goals
I thought I'd keep a weekly record of these so I can see if anything is getting done. 😆
More reading, less tv ~ No. lol
Go back to the beginning and revamp old blog posts ~ Nothing this week.
Exercise ~ Ha!
Tidy up outside ~ Trip and I did a few things.

Touching Nature:  It was gorgeous this past week, but chilly at night. Thursday morning there was actual frost on the car when I took Kyle to work! But it warmed to the 80s Friday and Saturday.

Book News:  I'm making good progress on audiobooks, but that's about it. I was slowly whittling down reviews, but the number is climbing again. Eek. I really enjoyed the Gunnie Rose series by Charlaine Harris. I don't have the final audiobook yet because it's not on Chirp. But I'll grab it as soon as it's available.

Don't Touch That Dial!: Bones still. Nearly done. 2 more seasons. Maybe I can start reading in the evening instead. Depends on how tired I am.

At the Flicks: Nope.

Cyberspace Playground: Wordle, Word Lots, Crossword Jam, Solitaire, the Finch app - if anyone wants to be friends just let me know.

Randomness:   O.M.G! I hate when that happens! lmao

Carol's Nuggets of Wisdom: When your body says it's time to stop, you should stop. I'm really bad at this. I keep going until I have shit done.

That's it for me. AVR News Update signing off. May all your books enthrall you.
