Hello and Happy Sunday!

On the Home Front

Sunday ~ Did a quick clean of my bathroom then a more thorough job of the laundry room since I had the new litter boxes and the clips to hook up a pee pad. The clips were pretty easy to do and they hold up a pee pad well. After the cleaning was done we dug out the china cabinet from my bedroom and moved it to the living room. We moved a bunch of other stuff out of the way so we could get to the decorations in my walk-in closet. We decorated the tree, Trip put the village out on top of dad's entertainment center, and then we put away most of the decorations since the house isn't really ready for much more. It is still a huge mess. Next year we'll put the tree somewhere else because it's kinda squished in the corner and it's smaller than usual, so we couldn't put as many ornaments on it. And we'll do the lights down the hallway ceiling. I'm going to use Command clips at regular intervals this time (in other words, I'm going to use a yardstick to measure them lol) and it'll take us some time to get those up. I'm already stressed so we'll have all year to do that.

Monday ~ Trip helped me take stuff off the mantel and put it in the china cabinet for now. Then we got ALL of the Christmas plushies (mostly Squishmallows) out and put them on the mantel. Oops. There are way more than will fit, so I put some up on the oak secretary and the china cabinet and a few under the tv. Wow. I had no idea we had that many Christmas Squishmallows. lol

sorry, the tree hides it lol

The entertainment center dad built. My maiden name starts with "L".
I'm already thinking of switching the secretary
and the entertainment center after the tree is down.
Thank goodness dad put it on wheels.

Tuesday ~ Took a table to the wasband, got the oil changed in the Pilot and had breakfast a Pano's while waiting, drove around getting some Pokestops then dropped a cabinet off at the Hospice Thrift store. I was hoping the wasband would take it, but he didn't have the room. It was a rainy chilly day.

Wednesday ~ Trip and I cleared out the spare room and I started painting. Got 2 coats done but if I had started earlier in the day I wouldn't have finished around 9:30pm. Stupid Procrastinating gene. lol

Thursday ~ Mr. Puggles had a wellness and Proheart app't. All good. Had a hard time getting motivated, but finally got the carpet shampooer out and did Trip's nearly done room then set 3 fans out to dry it. Once it was dry we moved his wardrobe back in and the box containing his bed. That's one bigass box out of the craft area. Yay!

Friday ~ Trip and I grocery shopped (BJ's and Food Lion) (and stopped at Walmart for blackout curtains for his room and Lowe's for some shorter ethernet cables), got new tennis shoes (Hokas) at Fleet Feet, and had breakfast (ok, more lunch), at Waffle House. Later, Anna and Trip picked up the grandkiddos for a sleepover. I painted the inside of an old side table that I took out the drawers and was using for pet blankets. I used Carolina Blue and it turned out ok. Trip's going to put it next to his bed and store some slippers in it. He has a lot of slippers. Then I mounted his last cube in his almost room. This was the cube that wouldn't fit out in the computer area, but fits fine in his room.

Saturday ~  Up at 4:00 to take Kyle to work. Back to bed until 8:30. Fed the furries, walked the dogs, then made everyone scrambled eggs before heading out to pick up Kyle from work. Stopped at Dave's Furniture so he could pick out a mattress (to be delivered Weds afternoon), got shakes at Dairy Queen, stopped at BJ's so he could get chocolates for co-workers for Christmas, then hit up Home Goods looking for candles (more things for co-workers) and a comforter for his bed. Finally got home and had the grandkiddos pick up toys so we could take them to their Mawmaw's. Drove through McD's first for their traditional meal, then after dropping them off we stopped at PetSmart for some stocking stuff for the furries and Christmas sweaters so Anna could take pics to submit at work. Once home I cleaned my bathroom then did the laundry room with it being Kyle's turn for litterboxes. Then I made Hamburger Helper for the boys and sloppy joes with baked beans for me and Anna. After we ate, Anna and I headed back out to do some more Christmas shopping (her) and get cards and stocking stuff (me). We hit up CVS and Walmart, but Five Below closes at 10:00 and we only had about 15 minutes so we went to Home Goods instead. It was after midnight before I finally went to bed. Ugh.

Today ~ Up at 8:30. So tired! Fed the furries, walked the dogs, grabbed Anna and headed out to Five Below. Stopped at Dollar General first looking for 2 small trashcans for Trip's computer station and his nearly finished room. Hard to get stocking stuff for Anna when she was with me, but I can pick up a few things (snacky snacks) at Food Lion this week. I already had a few things anyway and while she was looking for a magnetic popsocket I stashed a few things for her in my cart. Picked up Biscuitville for us all for brunch on the way home. After eating, Anna and I filled all the feeders for the critters and I hooked up the hose so she could wash out all the bird baths. I had her fill just one of the concrete ones and leave the others empty. Supposed to get down to 13º tonight! I showered then snacked on some cookies with our Caffeinated Advent tea and finished a BBNYA2025 book. Now I'm working on this post at 4:30pm and it's so late! I like having the post done on Saturday and scheduled for Sunday. Oh, well.

Coming week ~ Kyle is off work this week (he had to take his PT or get a payout so they flipped a coin to decide lol). I'm putting him to work with Trip. They'll put together a table for by their desks then Trip's bed then move the small entertainment center that was Anna's out of my bedroom to his room and the mini-fridge in my office to his room. Once Kyle's mattress comes Weds afternoon, they can take apart their full-sized bunkbed (which we'll load up in the Pilot and I'll take to the Hospice Thrift Store) and put together his bed. The spot where the entertainment center was in my room can temporarily house all of the tubs of toys that are currently under the bunkbed. I'm so tired of moving things from one place to another. lol However, I don't want to get rid of the toys since the grandkids play with them. Plus, there's actually a lot of money tied up in the wooden train tracks, Play-Doh equipment, etc etc. We might actually make a decent dent in all of the boxes and stuff around here. Kyleigh wants to come over for a sleepover during their break to help sort out the craft area. They'll be over Friday night to open presents then maybe she can stay a few days to help Anna or come over the following weekend. We'll see what April has going on for them. Once the fridge is out of my office, my grandma's dresser can go by my desk and I can use it to store stuff. It was being used in the old kitchen for snacks, so maybe pet stuff? Hats, gloves, scarves? We'll see. Then my Aunt Theresa's tea cart (that mom bought from her estate when she died and it became her tea cart) can go in the living room. I anticipate that this coming week will see a reduction in the clutter as things get moved around and find homes. Finally. I still need to fix a kitchen chair and the glider with some wood glue and clamp them somehow. I'll probably just use my trailer ratchet straps since I don't think there's a clamp out there to fit such an awkward placement.

December Special
Tea Advent from Plum Deluxe ~
This is my first time trying the Plum Deluxe Advent boxes even though I've been buying tea from them for years now. I bought two, one caffeinated for me and Trip and one decaffeinated so Anna could be included. Kyle prefers hot chocolate. Trip and I have ours about midday and when Anna gets home after work or after dinner we have the decaf.

Grading will be:
1 Loved!
2 It's ok
3 No!

Day 7 ~ Caffeinated ~ Snow Angel White ~ 2
               Decaffeinated ~ Raspberry Currant ~ 2

Day 8 ~ Caffeinated ~ Heritage Black ~ 2
               Decaffeinated ~ Pears and Cinnamon ~ 1

Day 9 ~ Caffeinated ~ Jingle Bells Java Puerh ~ 3!! (java is a dead giveaway that I would hate this - who the hell puts coffee beans in tea?!)
               Decaffeinated ~ Decaf Spiced Marzipan ~ 1

Day 10 ~ Caffeinated ~ Citrus Mint Green ~ 1
               Decaffeinated ~ Strawberry Immunity ~ 1

Day 11 ~ Caffeinated ~ Rose Gold Black ~ 2 (not a fan of rose, but at least it isn't coffee)
               Decaffeinated ~ Coconut Frost ~ 1

Day 12 ~ Caffeinated ~ Royal Assam Black ~ 3 (this is a very bitter and strong tea)
               Decaffeinated ~ Holiday Embrace ~ 2

               Decaffeinated ~ Key Lime Ginger ~ 1

Day 14 ~ Caffeinated ~ Fog Cutter ~ 3 (though it's better with a bunch of honey)
Decaffeinated ~ haven't steeped this yet

This week decaffeinated is rocking it! I will have a hard time not ordering when these become available at Christmas. I mean, seriously.  I have SO much tea! I really shouldn't order any more. But they're so fucking delicious!

Touching Nature:  Not horrible - some rain, tried really hard to snow, now it's cold and windy. Brrrrr!

Book News:  I finished 1 of my BBNYA2025 books I'm judging. I'm failing at this. I have 3 more to go and they're supposed to be done tomorrow. I suck.

Don't Touch That Dial!: Still watching a Bones here and there. Then Anna and I found out one of her YT subscriptions (How To Cook That) goes to an anti-GLBT church (in Australia), so we are majorly disappointed and won't be watching any more. If you're so proud of your religion (and she obviously is by her last upload) why go to such lengths to hide that from your subscribers for so many years? In addition, she appears to support AI and that's another huge nope for me. She and her husband can go fuck themselves and I'm glad I didn't have a chance yet to buy his books.

At the Flicks: Nope.

Cyberspace Playground: Wordle, Word Lots, Crossword Jam, Solitaire, the Finch app - if anyone wants to be friends just let me know.

Randomness:

Carol's Nuggets of Wisdom:

That's it for me. AVR News Update signing off. May all your books enthrall you.

Chirp

I did grab a few on sale and the some Friday Freebie bundles.
But I'm tired and the lateness of this post is stressing me out.
So no links this week.
