Hello and Happy Sunday!
On the Home Front: There was no Sunday post last week because we were in Ohio visiting family. We left on the 26th and went backwards from our usual route. Instead of going to my mom's first we went to my father-in-law's place in Southern Ohio and then to mom's up closer to Cleveland because my oldest brother was going to be there on July 1st and we had things to clean out. Plus, the 2 year anniversary of dad's death was July 4th. We had a cook out under the maple trees with just family and it was nice out. We miss him.
While we were there, my brother got a dumpster and we cleaned out the attic (as the shortest person besides mom guess who got to be in the hot, cramped, mouse turd-ridden attic? Yeah, me), the basement (again, it's a fucking old house {1850} and the basement is at most 5'4"), and dad's shop. Things are getting tidy and maybe next summer we won't have to clean out anything. We left for home Sunday at 7pm and drove through the night rolling in around 4:ooam. We fell into bed and I slept for 4 hrs before getting up and getting a shitload of things done. I was busy all week doing shit. All kinds of shit. It's nice to visit family but man, the stuff that has to be done when we get home is endless. At least we had someone here watching the house and 5 of the 6 furbabies. We boarded Artemis since she's high energy (and the guy watching everything still had to go to work) and having her boarded also meant the cats could roam the house.
In addition to getting things done, Vengeance went in Weds to get a mass removed from his leg. He did well and is as mobile as ever. I've been having to hide his pain pills in a chewy because I can't get him to take it with anything else. They sent the mass off for biopsy and we're awaiting results but don't expect anything nasty. He goes back on the 22nd to get the sutures out.
My foot that was all fucked up is better. So everyone can stop worrying about it. lol
Is that it? Oh, yeah. Anna has a coworker who tested positive for COVID19 this week, but Anna didn't have any contact with her. Hopefully no one else who did work with her comes down with it. *fingers crossed*
Touching Nature: Hot as Satan's asshole. When we got back from Ohio I mowed and did some weeding. That's it. We've had some rain but that only made things worse. Fucking upper 90s can go suck it.
Book News: I'm so far behind here but hopefully that will change soon. I did manage to write 2 of the 8 reviews on Thursday. Yay!
Don't Touch That Dial!: Some Buffy the Vampire Slayer the last few days, but that's it.
At the Flicks: Nope
Cyberspace Playground: Nope
Randomness:
Carol's Nuggets of Wisdom: I'm too tired to wisdom.

Sounds like a productive family visit! And a nice time, minus the work 😂. Oh gosh, I hope no one else gets COVID from Anna's coworker. When Kiko's coworker had it, no one got sick, so there's hope!
ReplyDeleteAnd yes! Wear a mask if you want me to keep wearing a bra 😂
Have a great week ❤️
Sounds like you had a lot going on but I am glad you got to spend it with family. I am sure your mom was happy to have you all.
ReplyDeleteDexter has a lump on his leg but it is a fatty lump but we are going to have to get it removed, I just hate to have him go in for surgery but I think after the summer I will have to get it done.
My coworker is so irresponsible that I think she is trying to get people sick. Like I am totally not making that up. She things a Million people dying is better than 2 weeks quarantine. I wear a mask at work but I think I will be wearing it a lot more because i don't trust her.
i hope you have a great week, Carol! Happy Reading! xx
I know all about being the shortest person too and hiding pain pills in meat or food to have our pets to eat them LOL Have a great week and stay safe!
ReplyDeleteSounds like you've been a busy one! I picked up the Debra Webb book, too. It looks really good. I hope you have a great week!
ReplyDeleteMy Sunday Post is here.
We won't be able to visit family this year, Covid is horrible in their states. Yuck on the attic muck...glad you are all home safely and that is behind you.
ReplyDeleteYou hauled some great books! Um I would go for Memorial Day or Labor Day for cleaning out the attic since the weather should be better Hot is not for me. It's mid 90s for 6 weeks or so but the rest of the year is so great I can take it.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful week and stay well!
Anne - Books of My Heart Here is my Sunday Post
LOL your weather. Would not want to feel that kind of heat. Whew! Happy reading.
ReplyDeleteLove the mask meme.
ReplyDeleteI hope all the shit is done for a week and you get the chance to relax
Wishing you a great reading week
Sounds you had a very busy week, the cook out under the trees sounds lovely, a nice way to remember him.
ReplyDeleteI keep reading about all this heat in the States, as I’m in Scotland I cannot relate at all, at the moment it is a balmy 66 here.
Have a good week.
