--- AVR News Update ---
Hello and Happy Sunday!

On the Home Front: Last week I mentioned Anna would be bringing home Mr. Puggles Saturday. I took Vengeance and Artemis to the school just down the road and Anna & Alex met us there with Mr. Puggles. We wanted them to meet on neutral ground. V did okay but Artemis kept losing her shit.  We came home and I put Artemis in her outside kennel while Mr. Puggles went in to meet Sugarcube, Nox, and Captain Kirk (the cats). It went fairly well. Right now, Anna has his crate back in her room with a baby gate in her doorway to keep him in and the cats out until they are more comfortable around each other. Artemis knows there is another dog in the house and whines at the hallway gate, but so far she walks away when corrected. It's going to take a lot of consistent training, but hopefully Mr. Puggles will be allowed on our side of the gate before too long.

Meet Mr. Puggles, a Pug/Terrier mix who is
2 years old and 23 lbs.

Touching Nature: Not horrible except for the just-above-freezing rain all day and night Friday. Got 2 ¼" of the wet stuff. It was so drab and gloomy that I left the Christmas lights in the house plugged in all day.

Book News: I read 3 books, but still have the reviews to write. I'm probably going to take the rest of the month off from the blog. I'll have the Sunday Post though. I'm hoping to gather a backlog of some reviews to start the new year. I'm signed up for 5 tours in the 1st quarter. Yikes. I also picked up Kindle Unlimited for 99¢ for 3 months. Thanks to Kim over at Caffeinated Book Reviewer for including the link in her post last Sunday. I have the link down in my shelf additions. I hope it still works.

Don't Touch That Dial!: Finished season 4 of Dexter. Rita aka Darla is dead. That's some fucked up shit right there. Trip and I have nearly completed our Star Wars: The Clone Wars rewatch and are almost ready to move on to Solo then Rebels. Of course the boys and I watched The Mandalorian. Hubby hasn't seen the latest yet so we'll rewatch Tuesday when he's off. We've also watched the Hurricanes. And we started our Christmas movie watch with Scrooged. We usually watch that on Thanksgiving weekend but we were in Ohio, so a bit of a late start.

At the Flicks: Star Wars: Rise of Skywalker is soooooo close.

Cyberspace Playground: Nothing

Randomness: My eldest spawn put this on my Facebook wall and then tagged his siblings. Smartass. lolol

Carol's Nuggets of Wisdom: Set your alarm 5 or 10 minutes before you need to be up in the morning and before you get out of bed, do some stretches. Point your toes, raise your legs (one at time or both), raise your arms, turn your head, etc, etc. Easy ones at first and work up to a full body stretch then relax a minute or two before starting your day. Yes, you have to wake up a tiny bit early, but at least you don't have to get up right away. Plus, stretching feels so good.
That's it for me. AVR News Update signing off. May all your books enthrall you.

  1. Lol, it’s a universal truth that if your parent is using your full name you are in trouble.

Wishing you a great reading week

  2. KU is so worth it, I might need to send you a few Monster Fun to read that I recently read that were pretty good.
Have you tried CBD oil with Artemis or maybe a few calming pills. Chewy has them and they are all natural. I used them for calliope sometimes and it seems to work. Which reminds me I need to get more.

Have an awesome week, Carol! Happy Reading! xx

  3. Mr Puggles is so cute. I hope they all mix well soon. I'm enjoying the weather except for the rain. Lulu doesn't want to go out to go potty in the rain. Sigh. She's also afraid of the umbrella. Have a great week and enjoy those books. I find there is a LOT of good stuff in KU, audio also.

Anne - Books of My Heart Here is my Sunday Post

  4. Lol I think Buffy would be losing her shit too. I hope they all get used to each other and get along soon.

Enjoy KU - I have it already, so I don't think I can get the deal, and I really enjoy it.

    Have a great week 😁

    1. We met on neutral ground, so the only thing I can thing of that is setting her off is Anna was walking Mr. Puggles. I mean, we go to the vet or she goes to doggie day care and doesn't lose her shit around other dogs. So wtf?

  5. Aww, what a cute dog! I hope all the animals learn to get along. I used to have a bunch of dogs. There would be squabbles sometimes, but mostly they tolerated each other. Have a great week!
