--- AVR News Update ---
Hello and Happy Sunday!

On the Home Front: I'm tired of all the bullshit going on in our government. I'm tired of that huge pile of shit festering in the White House and everyone who enables it. I'm sick of women being treated as if we don't matter. This is nearly the end of 2018. Why does it, in a lot of ways, still appear like it's the 1800s - where white men rule with an iron fist?  I mean, the world literally laughed at the Dumpster this week and he still acts like he's the greatest thing since chocolate. I'm just exhausted by it all.

Touching Nature: Low 80s, a bit of rain, some humidity, nothing Fall-like about this shit at all.

Book News: I have 1 book review to write and I'm nearly done with another book, so I'll have 2. After I write those I'll be switching to nothing but my NetGalley backlog for my NetGalley November posts.

Don't Touch That Dial!: Some CSI and the Indians. Playoffs are next week and Daredevil Season 3 comes out on 10/19. Finally!

At the Flicks: Nothing.

Cyberspace Playground: I'm stretching out my last few puzzles on Wordscapes because there has been no update in quite some time. I've been playing a lot of Word Shaker which is like Boggle.

Randomness:
Carol's Nuggets of Wisdom: It's hard to stay positive when people I know support our hateful administration. It sucks ass. And not in a good way.

That's it for me. AVR News Update signing off. May all your books enthrall you.

  2. I was physically tired of having to explain why even if he didn't do it why he still isn't a good pick and also why is someone that is assaulted always told they are wrong or people STILL don't believe them and then they wonder why they wait so long. It's so exhausting! I told my kids I will always believe them and they can always talk to me. I am also teaching my son that woman are not sexual objects, they are people that want to be respected just like men. All parents should teach their kids that. (not including us since we already do and we are AWESOME!) I deal with men thinking woman aren't as good every day at work. It's why I want out so bad. I work just as hard if not more and the kid I work with gets all the praise and never gets in trouble for things that me and my woman co-worker do. It's frustrating. Ok I am done ranting! lol

I have a few reviews to write and also brainstorming posts ideas today. I really want to get back into blogging 100% again. I miss it so much! :)

I hope you have a wonderful week Carol! Happy Reading! ox

  3. I may not be living in the US but I am following this week's events and it's infuriating indeed. I can understand why you would feel disheartened... Sophie @bewareofthereader

  4. I feel the same way by the White House too. It's a shame that we are still going through this divide in our country and it seems like nothing is being done to fix things. I just hope things get better soon.

    Here’s my Sunday Post!

  5. Yeah, last week was exhausting. I mostly had to say off Twitter because I wasn’t in the mood to look at all the nonsense. I hope this week is calmer.

  6. I'm with you 100% on the White House and the exhaustion. My weather is similar altho no rain this week. After the hurricane here (NC) I'm happy for a break. I use my reading to escape / ignore the politics, at least until it's time to vote. Enjoy your reading! Anne - Books of My Heart
