--- AVR News Update ---
Hello and Happy Sunday!
On the Home Front: Trip graduated on Monday and on Thursday he turned 18. So yay! Kyle is on summer break and immediately got sick. Sore throat, aches, coughing and stuffy nose. He's been miserable. But loving son that he is, he has shared it with me and Trip. No one else seems to be affected. Trip has it the least and I don't have it as bad as Kyle, but not as easy as Trip. lol
Touching Nature: Nope. No touching this week. Too hot and too much other stuff to do.
Book News: I finally finished the magazine reviews and I'm now on hiatus. I've been reviewing for InD'tale since the holiday issue 2012 and it was time for a break. So I'll be reading more books for the blog and hopefully building a reserve since I'm down to 6 books in the tank. I am 1 book away from my Goodreads goal of 100 and I've been there since the end of May. Yes, that's how damn busy I've been. But that should change and soon. I'll also probably upgrade that number to 150. Far short of my usual 250, but it is what it is. Now that things are settling down, I may actually be able to get back to visiting you guys again! Woot!
Don't Touch That Dial!: Nothing.
At the Flicks: We saw Wonder Woman and it was pretty damn good. 6 of us went, and 6 of us enjoyed.
Cyberspace Playground: I got nothin'.
Randomness: Anna dragged her cap and gown out so I could get a picture of them both. Somewhere I have a picture of George in his (2003), but if I can't find it he said he still has his cap and gown, so I'll have the kids take theirs to Ohio when we go. George thinks I'm kidding. Wtf. He's been my kid for nearly 32 yrs. Does he not know me at all? LOL
Carol's Nuggets of Wisdom: I don't care if cough medicine tastes like crap. Take it. *side eyes Kyle*

Oh no, sorry to hear you guys have a cold. Hope it goes quickly. It sounds like you need a break from the mag. :) I am hoping to see Wonder Woman this week!
ReplyDeleteHave a great week!

Week in Review
This cold is so annoying! lol I'll still be doing stuff behind the scenes for the mag. I do much of the social media, pull together the newsletters and other sundry items, but the reviews, yeah. I needed a break from them for a little bit. They're a challenge to write. One I usually enjoy, but after so long doing them I need the rest. If only to recharge my writing batteries. :)
DeleteI think you'll enjoy Wonder Woman. So much better than Batman vs Superman. DC has finally stepped up their game with WW. We saw the trailer for Justice League. It's looking good! *fingers crossed*
Congratulations on the graduation! That's awesome. And I have a sore throat too :( let's hope everyone gets better soon :) have a good reading week!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I think this cold/sore throat thing is going around. When are we going to have the Star Trek universe? No one ever got colds. Grrr! :)
DeleteCongrats to Trip. Not touching nature is ok by me. Bummer about the cold. I am ahead about 11 books on my goal of 200, but I cut the number back from 250 in March. I don't need the pressure. Some years I do 300 and some 200. pfft.
ReplyDeleteOn No! You all have a cold! :( Feel better!!! It is nice that he want to share but tell him next time cake not cold.
ReplyDeleteYou are doing good, YAY! Hiatus! I have been in a slump and need to read. Might have to break out the monster porn. That always breaks my slump...oddly.
Have a great week, Carol! Happy Reading! ox
Sorry you caught a cold, but I hope all of you get better soon!

Sorry to hear about the colds running rampant, but congrats on your son's graduation! I loved Wonder Woman too. I heard it was good, but it was even better than I'd expected.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week!
Here's my Sunday Post :)
I almost starting reviewing the magazine but knew my own books would suffer for it so I passed. Could have been fun though. Sorry you're all down with a cold. It seems colds are common the beginning of summer. Figures! Be well:)
