--- AVR News Update ---
Hello and Happy Sunday!

On the Home Front: Where do I start? I have no idea. I can't keep the days straight anymore. What happened to my sedate, jammie-wearing, butt-planted-comfily-in-my-office-chair days? Huh? Can someone tell me?

1. Last week's visiting was wonderful. They're heading back home to Ohio today. I hope they have safe travels.

2. Hubby had his 3 month bloodwork done and his A1C is at 5%. Aim was for 7% (he was at 12% on his 4/1 diagnosis), but we so totally rock we had to do better than that. Woot! :D

3. We bought two used vehicles. One will be Anna's when she gets her license and the other will be used when we need to haul shit. Ok, not literal shit. Well, maybe. For the garden. Who knows? But finally, a truck. We're happy with them so far.

4. Took Anna to the DMV to renew her permit and got stuck in DMV Purgatory for 2 hrs 40 minutes. How am I still sane after that? Not sure. But I took the kids school supply shopping once we finally obtained freedom. Also managed to get their hair cut and I treated us to lunch.

5. Mower wouldn't start so I rented one from Home Depot. The grass was really tall and wet from the dew. It was a nightmare to mow and took much longer than normal. But I managed to get the mower back in under 4 hrs. Whew! Hubby can look at ours this week, but if the damn rain continues to hold off maybe the grass won't grow at a mutant rate.

6. Anna starts classes tomorrow and she doesn't have a license yet so I'll be driving her to class since her boyfriend will be at a different campus this semester. It's going to be tricky business when the boys start back at the high school on the 29th. GAH! I'll need her to practice, practice, practice and get that license soon or I may need a white wardrobe and rubber room.

7. I am so over running all over Hell's Half Acre doing errand after errand after errand. I just want my jammie days back. However, we have projects in the works, so it looks like I'll be outside working from now until...doomsday. Ok, not doomsday. It's all stuff that needs done and once the tractor is fixed we'll be out doing, well, outside stuff. And that means less time for reading. Wut?!

8. Anyone watching the Olympics? I'm catching some here and there, mostly swimming. Go USA! Woot!

Touching Nature: I touched a whole lot of Nature and it wasn't fun. Or cool. It was so hot. So damn hot. And wet. But not in a good way. Not even close.

Book News: Still super far behind, but I'm starting to dig myself out. I drafted 8 posts yesterday and readied my docs for the 11 reviews that need written. Hoping to get them done today. 26 books behind on my challenge and I'm trying to keep that below 30, but it's not looking so good. However, with this week slowing down a bit on the errands I think I can actually start visiting blogs again. That's the plan anyway.

Don't Touch That Dial!: Trip and I have managed to watch nearly all of Star Wars: Clone Wars Season 2 in the last 2 weeks.  It's easy to fit one in here and there when they're only 22 minutes long or so. lol

At the Flicks: Hoping to hit Star Trek: Beyond tomorrow.

Cyberspace Playground: I got nothing. I miss my Cyberspace Playground! And my comfy chair!

Randomness: Because that's fucking hilarious!

Carol's Nuggets of Wisdom: No matter how tired you are never leave dirty dishes lying around.  1. They attrack unwanted guests (bugs, vermin) 2. the longer they sit the harder it is to clean them 3. it's disgusting. At the very least, drag your ass to the kitchen, scrape them and give them a rinse or soak them in the sink.

That's it for me. AVR News Update signing off. May all your books enthrall you.

  1. WOW you have been super busy! I hope things settle down soon for you.
Congrats on the new cars! I know what a pain in the ass that other one was.
I always soak my dishes before washing them, however, my husband usually washes the dishes after I cook so if it has a lot of stuff on it he will soak it even the non-stick pans just because I don't think he really wants to wash them :)

I came back just in time for some Monster Porn! YAY!

Have a great week, Carol! Happy Reading! ox

    1. Too busy! *thud* I'm a known pot & pan soaker. I usually get everything else done (what I don't put in the dishwasher), but pots and pans are my nemesis. lol

Yep, MPM was late this month, but should be on time next month. :D

      Thanks and you, too! xo

  2. You had a busy week. My daughter's permit expired too so we have to renew it. She starts Junior College in a week and my mother-in-law has to drive her. She also needs to practice so she can get her license. Both our lives would be so much easier if our kids can drive themselves lol. I hate washing dishes but I at least rinse them if I can't get to it right away. I tell everyone to do this but of course they don't listen.

I hope this week is less stressful and you have a good week!

    1. What is it with kids these days?! I got my license on my 16th birthday and my oldest son (he's 31 now) wasted no time getting his. Anna let her permit expire, Trip is 17 and doesn't even have his permit and Kyle could have taken Driver's Ed in the Spring but decided to wait until this Fall. *exasperated sigh*

I hate washing dishes, too. I do try to at least rinse or soak them if I'm too tired to get to them. Luckily, most of my dishes can go in the dishwasher, so there's not usually a lot to wash. Except pots & pans. I hate them. lol

I'm trying, but it's only a little less busy. :D

  3. Wow, you have been really busy. You poor thing, I don't blame you for wanting back in those comfy jammies. :) Hopefully this week will be less stressful. I have been watching Olympics off and on cause nothing else to watch...lol.

    1. I can't tell you how much I want my jammie days back! Waaaahhhhh!!! It's a bit less stressful, but next week should be better.

I don't usually watch tv, but Trip has been obsessed with the Olympics, so he's usually got it on. :)

    1. I did take my Paperwhite, but the book I was reading was a bit boring. *sigh* And the chairs aren't the most comfortable. My ass fell asleep. lol
