--- AVR News Update ---
Hello and Happy Sunday!
Happy 17th Birthday to my son, Trip!!
And

TO ALL THE DADS OUT THERE
HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!

On the Home Front: It's been a slightly busy week. App'ts for the kids, diabetes class for hubby & I (he graduated yay!) and Trip's birthday Weds. On top of that hubby has been working a lot of OT for his counterpart whose dad passed away. I worry all those long hours (14 hr days) will be too stressful for him, but he's only working his regular 2 days next week and will have plenty of down time to relax.

In other news, hubby's workplace announced that they (and like 600 other companies on the west coast) were hacked and their W2 info was stolen. So Friday I spent most of my day dealing with the fallout of that when I had other things to do. On top of that the internet (fuck you, AT&T) decided to be s-u-p-e-r slow and it took forever to get anything done.
Touching Nature: It's too fucking hot. The end.

Book News: I did nothing on the blog, but I did get a couple of books and several graphic novels finished. I've also got my very first beta read. *fingers crossed* I don't totally fuck it up.

Don't Touch That Dial!: We finished the 2 episodes (in Season 9) of Supernatural that we had viewed awhile ago and now when we pick back up they will all be new to us. Yay!

At the Flicks: Bupkis

Cyberspace Playground: Many thanks to a blogging friend over on BookLikes for introducing me to this guy. LOLOLOL
Toaster | Scamalot #3 by Mashable

Randomness: Because Legos and Monty Python and the Holy Grail. :D

Carol's Nuggets of Wisdom: When I go shopping and I'm using a shopping cart (AKA a buggy here in the South wtf) I thread the child safety strap through my purse strap so if someone tries to grab my purse they're in for a surprise. And a beat down. I admit to being a tad disappointed no one has tried to snag my purse yet. I'm so looking forward to venting my shopping rage.

That's it for me. AVR News Update signing off. May all your books enthrall you.

  1. Happy Birthday, Trip! Happy Father's Day, Ralph! Happy it's-to-fucking-hot-to-work-outside-so-stay-in, Carol!

Sorry about the hacking that is a hassle and with all this awesome technology you would think we could prevent that from happening so often. Maybe someone should give hackers, hacking jobs to keep hackers from hacking.

Monty Python is Lego is the BEST THING EVER!!!!

Have a great week, Carol! Happy Reading! oxoxox

I can just imagine the hassle of dealing with all of your stolen info, gack. Sick Buffy and the Winchesters on the thieves! :P

  3. Sorry to hear about the hacking. That's such a pain. The company that I used to work for, the company my dad works for, and the company that my husband works for all have had their security clearance files have all been hacked by the Chinese who now have all my information 3 times over - from my clearance and then being spouse and family member on the others. I was thrilled. But OMG Lego Monty Python and the Holy Grail! I'll take a double helping of that please. Yay for the Darynda Jones. I have the first one and I really want to read it but you know how that goes. Have a great week!

  4. Happy birthday to your son! I love the Star Wars image. I'm sorry to hear about the hacking. That is so frustrating! I hope it all works out. I also lock up my purse on the shopping carts. It's crazy when I walk by women who don't watch their purse. I've had my wallet stolen before (not while shopping) but I hated the hassle of getting a new drivers license and new credit cards. I'm catching up on the Charley Davidson series so I hope you like the next book. Have a great week!

  6. Yeah, it's called a buggy where I come from. Only northerners call it a cart here. Hacking is no fun. My university released student and staff social security numbers my sophomore year. My best friend was one of them. Then it happened AGAIN a year or so later - and it was me this time! Some people are just buttheads. My internet at home has been glitchy and slow. If it is like that when I return (probably when school starts again) I am calling and bitching Time Warner out.

  7. Monty Python Legos! That's got to be a riot. LOL I was recently hacked and it lingers in little places. Always finding something else I need to fix. And I had problems with my internet yesterday. Finally got disgusted and shut my computer down for the day.
