--- AVR News Update ---
Hello and Happy Sunday!

On the Home Front: The A/C guy came out to fix the freon leak in our less than 2-yr-old system. Everything but the freon was covered under warranty, but he's fairly confident the parts people will cover that. I said they better damn well considering how new this system is *and* I think it was all leaked out earlier this year since our Feb and March bills were sky high.

In other news, our 14-yr-old dog, Snowy, had to go under the knife Friday to have some teeth removed. It happens to older dogs, so it wasn't unusual. She was spacey and whiny Friday night but back to her old self by Saturday morning. And nothing keeps her from her kibble. Nothing! Jeez, you'd think I starved her and the rest of the herd. I really don't.

Touching Nature: Rain, rain, tiny bit of sun, rain, oh look more rain, and finally sun this weekend. Mother Nature needs her ass kicked, for realz.

Book News: Still behind on the yearly challenge, but fuck it. I'll get 'em read when I get 'em read. In any case, my June calendar is filling up nicely and I have all my drafts and reviews current. I'll take progress wherever I can get it.

Don't Touch That Dial!: Nothing. I miss the Winchesters, Cas, Charlie and Crowley!

At the Flicks: Seeing Capt. America: Civil War today. Woot!

Cyberspace Playground: About this election? Exactly this...

Randomness: My Mother's Day presents. :)

Carol's Nuggets of Wisdom: Life Rule #1: Never trust a fart.

That's it for me. AVR News Update signing off. May all your books enthrall you.

  1. I hope the warranty covers the bills for your A/C. And I am glad to hear your dog is doing well again, it's always a bit scary when one of your pets need surgery, but that's good he made such a speedy recovery.

Now if you can sent some of that rain here, I'll send you some of our sun. We had warm and dry weather this week. Luckily it has cooled down a bit now in the weekend, but some rain would be welcome.

Your mother's day present all looks great! Especially the chocolates, I hope they tasted good. I hope you'll have a great week!

  2. Hopefully the warranty will cover everything on you AC unit. We rent currently and this is one of the things I'm not looking forward to when we own.
It hasn't rained too much here but our weather's turned chilly. Blackberry winter, I guess.
You picked up some good books this week. Hope you enjoy them!
    Here's my Sunday Post.

  3. Wow you guys are kicking butt on the Buffy watching. Do you know I've never seen that show? I know, how is that possible lol? Anyway... hope the AC works out, I know when mine went out (in the middle of summer natch) it was... not good. And glad your dog cam through okay!

I just saw Civil War and loved it. Hope you do too.

  4. Ha! Love your attitude re the challenge. I've stopped doing them for that reason... I set these goals and then stress about meeting them and then have to remind myself they're MY OWN goals. I can bloody change them if I want to!

Hope the weather improves for you soon and glad Snowy got over the 'surgery' quickly!

  5. Progress is progress! I am trying to get everything current, but I'm struggling. I've got to sit down one long weekend and just work straight threw. I also concur on that reading attitude! Hopefully everything for your AC unit gets covered. That really does stink, and explains those earlier bills! I rent and have little window units (house was built in 1932), but I know that's a big concern on the man's list and he always keeps extra money in case it goes. The weather this week is atrocious - rain every day, and severe storms on two.

  6. Your attitude about your yearly challenge made me laugh. :) I think the rain followed me to Chicago and then followed me back home cause it rained almost the whole time I was in Chicago for BEA and now it's raining at home. :(

How was CA:Civil War, I really want to see that but don't want to go without dad and he is still recooping from knee surgery.

    Have a great week!
