AVR News Update
Hello and Happy Sunday!

On the Home Front: It's been a trying week, but we survived it. On the plus side, we had a great Marine Corps birthday (11/10) and Veteran's Day.

Touching Nature: The weather sucked most of the week, so there was no touching, stroking or massaging of Nature.

Book News: Massive graphic novel haul from the library that I totally blame on my hubby. He also brought home a stack, but not as many as I did. *cough* I'm 16 for 16 on suggested purchases with one more outstanding. If they're going to buy it I should see it in my Holds this week. Maybe. I'm 16 books behind in my yearly challenge, but I'm not worried. *see book haul* For my NetGalley November challenge I have 3 books left of the 20 I was aiming for. I may or may not get those done this coming week. And finally, my Paperwhite (AKA Stargate) has frozen on me. It won't shut off and it won't restart. It's stuck on the kid reading under the tree screen. I'll try contacting Amazon for help, but it's 18 months old with no remaining warranty, so it's probably kaput. I've been reading my NetGalley books on my  1st gen Fire (AKA Portal) and that battery doesn't last nearly as long. *sigh*

Don't Touch That Dial!: I had an Arrow marathon on Thurs and part of Fri thus completing Season 1 and heading well into Season 2. Also, hubby, Trip and I watched a few episodes of Supernatural Friday evening. We'd been doing a rewatch but somehow got stalled in Season 3. I had no clue that Laurel from Arrow was Ruby #1 from Supernatural! I suck.

At the Flicks: Nope. Probably won't be any flicks until Star Wars comes out.

Cyberspace Playground: Nada. Too busy doing other stuffs. However...I do have this that hubby shared on Facebook and I thought was hilarious. We seriously need more videos like this.
If Sex was like Call of Duty.

Randomness:

That's it for me. AVR News Update signing off. May all your books enthrall you.

From the library
I may have gone a bit overboard on the graphic novels.
But that's ok, hubby brought a stack home, too. :D

(not a graphic novel lol)

  2. LOL you are on a roll with your library. I have no doubt that you'll complete your NG and goodreads challenge. Thanks to my car problems, I didn't get to pick up my second batch of library books and I completely forgot to include in my post the ones I did pick up. Le sigh.

The Arrow show is very different from the comics but I like it. Now you need to start Flash and Charmed. :)

    1. I'm still waiting to see if the last one I suggested gets picked up.

I'm thinking about Flash, but I gave up on Charmed. I just didn't like it. Probably not enough testosterone for me. lol

    1. I haven't had a chance to contact Amazon yet. I'm a little afraid to because I think it's dead. :(

  4. I've found since I started binging on Netflix that there are a lot of actors showing up in different shows- the dude on The 100 was also in Continuum, and there was another guy from it also on Dark Matter. They all cycle around I guess. LOL. How are you liking Arrow? I binged it recently and am up to S4, but haven't watched any of 4 yet.

    Yay Black Widow!

    1. I noticed a lot of Psych actors show up in Supernatural. I guess because they film so close to each other. Or did, since Psych is over now. lol I'm loving Arrow! I hope it continues to be good or I'm gonna be sad.

  5. I watch a lot of BBC shows so it's kind of like a game to see who ends up in what as I think there's only about 15 actors they consistently use! I want to try Supernatural but somehow haven't. You stocked up on the graphic novels! Enjoy them. Hope Stargate gets better or that his replacement arrives soon. Have a great week!

    1. We love Supernatural! The kids kept bugging us to watch it, but hubby & I waited until there were 7 seasons on Netflix before we started watching. Before we made it to 7, 8 was added then just as we finished 8, 9 was added. But now we're stalled. We need to watch 9 & 10!

  6. I saw the first episode of Supernatural and really liked it but there are so many seasons to get caught up on. But I love the brothers! You got a lot of graphic novels that all look really good. I have to start reading some soon. Have a great week!

    1. I like having so many seasons. That way, if I end up liking it I know I have lots to go. I think that's why I keep dragging my feet on Firefly. lol

    1. I don't always like the ones I pick up, but I do enjoy giving them a try. Especially since they don't take long to read, so I don't have a ton of time invested in them. :)
