AVR News Update
Hello and Happy Sunday!

Hard to believe that August is half over already! Wtf?

Home front: My heroes (Johnny's Plumbing) showed up a little after 2pm on Monday and less than 2 hrs later we had water. YAY! There is still a lot of silt and junk coming up, so we have to clean the first filter under the house quite often, but it seems to be getting better now. It's a pain in the ass, but at least we have water, so I will grumble about the constant loss of pressure (we lose pressure when the filters get clogged) quietly. My husband has worked all week (he typically only works 2 on, 2 off, etc), so A+ to my boys for going out to either run the water at the first filter or to take it off and clean it when I've needed to have it done. Other than that big news, I got nothing to report.

Touching Nature: I've mowed half the lawn and picked some tomatoes. I'm a lazy bitch.

Book News: I'm 32 books behind on my yearly Goodreads Challenge. I might have been able to knock that number down this week except I fell down a fanfic rabbit hole on Thursday and only surfaced today. I have 3 reviews to write and a ton of books to read. I had planned a MPM post for tomorrow, but *see fanfic rabbit hole above* it will be postponed again. On the plus side, for my very first fanfic read, it was very well-written. Probably why I had to keep reading everything she wrote. lol I will be doing a FanFic Friday post about it next month.

Don't Touch That Dial!: Nothing. I did mention the fanfic, right?

At the Flicks: Nope.

Cyberspace Playground: Buffy fanfic and then I had to watch YouTube clips and some of my favorite episodes. My ass is sore from being glued to my computer for days. So, my obsession surfaced once again. Shit. Just when I had gotten it under control. Also, BatDad. You're welcome.

That's it for me. AVR News Update signing off. May all your books enthrall you.

  1. The Scream and Twisted Dark both look amazing! I'm a huge horror junkie so I think I'll have to go take a look at both of them for sure! I LOVE Bat Dad, by the way!! XD I'm new follower to your blog!

    Here's my Weekly Recap!

    1. If you like horror then you also should look at Tortured Life. :) BatDad is so awesome! lol Thanks for the follow! :)

  2. YAY! WATER! One day without water and I feel like I am going crazy, I don't know how you did it for so long.
My garden has seen better days. It's just to hot and I can't keep up with watering it. So I will just let it die out but still water it everyday hoping to get all the veggies to finish growing.
BatDad is funny but strange LOL

Enjoy all your new books, I can't look at them or I will want them.

Have a great week! YAY! WATER!!! :)

    1. Yay water is right!! *bounces in chair* BatDad is so hilarious. His wife is a saint for putting up with him though. LOL

*Jaws music plays* You know you want those books...

  3. Alright I one clicked the In-Betweener, it looks good and everyone seems to have grabbed it this week. Yay for water and plumbers!! Enjoy your week my friend.

    1. Water is da bomb. lol I'm hoping In-Betweener is good. Not sure when I'll get to it though. *sigh* :D

  4. YAY for water! It's a good thing. :D

Fanfic counts you know, you could totally review it. :)

    1. Water, lovely water, just coming out of the faucet like magic. lol

I'm totally going to review the fanfic (because it's really good), but I wish I could count it towards my reading goal. :P

  5. Man I love your books this week. I love me some scares! Kudos to the boys for doing all that work for ya too!

    here's my Sunday Post -

    1. Horror is still very new to me. I find it's hit or miss. I guess because I haven't really figured out what elements of horror I like over others. I'll get there though. :)
