AVR News Update
Hello and Happy Sunday!
It is with a happy dance that I can tell you we got all of our running around done on Monday. There was much rejoicing!
It is with a happy dance that I can tell you we got all of our running around done on Monday. There was much rejoicing!
Of course, Jessica's grades didn't get sent over to the school by Tuesday, so she had another day off, but Wednesday she was off to join the masses and life was pretty much back to normal.
I spent all of Friday writing up reviews (12 of them) and shuffling things around on my blog calendar. I wrote the last pending review yesterday and I'm all caught up. Again, there was much rejoicing.
I now have 2 weeks worth of posts ready to go and I'm working on the last 2 weeks of February. I am reading without guilt. Well, for now. No doubt I will binge again and end up with several to write in a row. BUT, I'm going to *try* to write the review as soon as I finish a book. We'll see how that goes.
In related news, I read 22 books in January. I was quite surprised. It doesn't seem like I've had much time to read, but there they are. Not as many as I had originally planned, but certainly more than I expected after figuring out how busy I would be helping Jessica.
In conclusion, 2015 is now 1/12 complete. If January is any indication, this year is going to FLY by. But I hope not.
That's it for me. AVR News Update signing off. May all your books enthrall you.

Awesome haul! Both Freak of Nature and Sex, Murder and Killer Cup-Cakes look so good! And with the cup-cake theme, you could participate in my Thirsty Thursday & Hungry Hearts meme ;)
ReplyDeleteI wish I was ahead once more with my reviews, but I'm not - I'm hanging on by the skin of my teeth right now, but I've been so busy these past two weeks I have hardly even had the time to read!
I hope you're having a fantastic Sunday. Happy reading.

Freak of Nature is one I spotted on a blog last Sunday. So glad it was still free though I have no idea when I'll get to read it. lol
DeleteI'm usually hanging on, too. I hope to have week 3 and possibly part of week 4 filled in by the end of this week. If I can stay off Facebook then it'll be easy. LOL
Facebook is like a black hole when it comes to losing time :)
DeleteExactly! The Blackhole Effect is why I refuse to Pinterest. I do not need another place to lose time. LOL
DeleteI really want to listen to a audio book! Just haven't got around to it.
ReplyDeleteHappy reading (listening)
Megan @ http://readingawaythedays.blogspot.co.uk
The kids & I listen to one each evening and I listen to one on the treadmill. Problem is I haven't been on the treadmill in about 2 weeks now. Though I hope to get back into a routine now that Jessica is settling in. :)
DeleteI want to try Estep on audio. Yeah you had a great week and there was much rejoicing! Woot I am excited for you. I have one book left for February and have some of March filled in. My problem is that I have so many reviews and no place to stick them..bwahaha.
ReplyDeleteI just can't seem to fit Estep into my rotation and I've been trying for a couple years now. So audio it is. :) And you had an awesome week, Nonna! I was gone all day Monday and came home in time for all the excitement. :D Umm...nah. I'm not going to touch that last statement. hehehe
DeleteMaybe I should finally give in and get an audio book or two for when I'm walking or riding my exercise bike...maybe that would make me do it more often! LOL
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your week...and thanks for sharing.
Here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES
I don't allow myself to listen to my designated audio any other time but on the treadmill. It makes me get on there and make like a hamster. lol I'm planning treadmill time now that life is back to normal and I can finally continue with Dark Lover by JR Ward.
DeleteWow, you had a great week! Shifting Shadows is so good. I especially loved Asil and Kara's story. I missed your 20 questions post, off to read it now.
ReplyDeleteI feel so accomplished right now. lol I was kinda hoping Shifting Shadows would come in later because I'm trying to finish up Feb books, but if I don't get to it I can always check it out again. :)
DeleteSounds Like you had a fun week!! here is my weekly recap!! http://bookbabble.weebly.com/blog/sunday-post1
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure fun is the right word, but I'll take it. LOL
DeleteI LOVE that movie lol. She turned me into a newt...I got better :)
ReplyDelete22 books is FANTASTIC! I am so jealous, I read 6, I really need to ignore my family and avoid work so I can read more than 6 next month otherwise I am such a slow reader ;)
I hope you have an AMAZING week Carol! Enjoy your new books!!!
Me, too! I even hooked my kids on it. We quote it all the time! LOL
DeleteI was hoping for more, but oh well. It helps when I ignore my family. hehehe Ok, I don't ignore them, but they're all teens (except hubby who has his own hobbies) so it's not like I have to supervise them all that much. :D But hey! 6 is fantastic! That's ummm...*looks at fingers, scratches head* that's more than 1 per week. *high fives*
Hey!! Hope you are doing well. Sounds like it.
ReplyDeleteWow, you are doing great if you got 12! reviews posted. That is so amazing! I still have 2 or 3 to write yet. *sigh* Time time time... But I'll get there one day. :)
Hope you have a great week!
I'm hanging in there. Had some things come up that suck, but we'll survive. :) I haven't been able to finish another book yet, so still caught up on the reviews. lol
DeleteI'm sure you're glad all that school stuff is over. I know with my kids' high school doing anything with the administration is like pulling teeth and I'd rather run repeatedly into a wall than deal with the counselors. Great job on your reviews! I'm jealous! Have a great week and enjoy your new books!
ReplyDeleteI am. I'm hoping for smooth sailing now. :) Thanks! I hope that I don't let them get away from me again, but they most likely will. LOL
DeleteI've been eyeing off "Shifting Shadows" :)
ReplyDeleteI've been eyeing it for a bit now, but I'm not sure I'll get to it as soon as I'd hoped. *pouts*
DeleteGlad your Jessica got off to school. And I like how you look at the year as one twelfth complete.
ReplyDeletemy post: http://fangswandsandfairydust.com/2015/02/superbowl-sunday.html
Me, too! *wipes forehead in relief* :D
DeleteOh ! Christopher Moore ! A dirty job ! I read it and that was so good !!! Both touching and hilarious, I hope you'll love it - I love this crazy author !
ReplyDeleteOK, I'm calm now :) Have a great week, enjoy your books !
I collect his books when I can, but I haven't had a chance to read them yet. I'm looking forward to them! :D
DeleteYay for being caught up on reviews! I've got a handful of ones that were just for fun reads but all my read for review ones are caught up other than last night's read :) Very good feeling.
ReplyDeleteI am so looking forward to the day I'm all caught up on my backlog. But at least I've got the reviews caught up. I'll take it. :D
