Title ~ Snack Me Skinny
Author ~ M.D. Evans
Publisher ~ Thrive Press
Published ~ 23 May 2013
Genre ~ Non-Fiction
Pages ~ 31
My Rating ~ 4 bites
This
is a quick read with succinct facts about snacking. Not so much a diet book as
a plan for changing your eating habits and why snacking is important. Not just
any kind of snacking though, but proper snacking. Think veggies and fruits and
snacks between 100-300 calories, not cookies and chips loaded with sugar, fat
and calories. At the end are a decent amount of recipes though more would have
been nice. Or even a list of foods to pick and choose from. On a editorial side
note: it’s shudder not shutter, I’m not sure what wildling is and using
grinded instead of ground sounds very elementary school. Over all though a
decent informative read for the short length.

Title ~ The Liar and other stories
Author ~ Matthew W. McFarland
Publisher ~ Matthew W. McFarland
Published ~ 23 May 2013
Genre ~ Anthology
Pages ~ 54
My Rating ~ 3 bites and a nibble
An
anthology with six short stories that I would put on the contemporary or
fiction shelves. They are well-written though not exactly my mug o’tea.
The Liar ~ My favorite.
Making Headlines ~ Totally creeptastic.
Toxic Love ~ I was lost by the ending of this one.
Ripples ~ This is my 2nd favorite.
The Savant ~ Interesting.
The Hospital ~ I was confused by the narrator, but the ending was a twist I didn't see coming.
Veggies and fruits are good, I'm a veggie :)
ReplyDeleteThey are. I really need to eat more of them. Not that I don't eat them daily, but more is better, right? :)
DeleteI need more fruits and passes in my diet. Can the book teach me to like them?
ReplyDeleteSorry, Bea. It doesn't teach that. :D
DeleteI'm laughing at Bea's comment - I would buy a book that taught me to hate unhealthy food. I like the healthy stuff. I just like the unhealthy MORE.
ReplyDeleteThat would be a great book. I'd miss a lot of nommy noms though. LOL
