AVR News Update
Hello and Happy Sunday!

I hope everyone has survived the New Year with minimal hangovers and much fun. My week has been fairly relaxing.  We ran around on Monday and got some things done, but not others. On Weds we saw The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies, stayed up late to welcome 2015 with champagne, shrimp cocktail and some pork roast for good luck and that's about it.

Oh, wait, hubby and I did fix a heater coil hose on the boil-on-our-ass, the Montana. The quick disconnect broke and it sprung a coolant leak. So we fixed that last Sunday. It was fun. Not. But we did it ourselves and that's what counts. I cannot express how much I love how handy my husband is. Well, I love him for many other reasons, but that one's a huge bonus. :D After that priority was taken care of we finished moving the bedrooms about. We also took down all the Christmas crap on Thurs. I miss the Christmas lights, but other than that I'm good with everything being put up for another 330 days or so. But now the treadmill is back where it belongs and I have no excuse for not getting my fat ass on it. *sigh*

That's it for me. AVR News Update signing off. May all your books enthrall you.

  1. Heating and water are huge pains in the asses when they fail. I have a hugely handy husband as well. It is great - but I always worry it puts too much pressure on him: everyone thinks he knows how to do everything and expects him to do everything. Poor guy. NYE sounds good. Sometimes all I want to eat is shrimp cocktail! my post for the Sunday Post: http://fangswandsandfairydust.com/2015/01/sunpo-1-4-15.html

  3. It's Christmas Decorations and nothing but love the day after Thanksgiving but New Years Day it becomes Christmas Crap lol I totally can relate I love Christmas but I am so happy to have the house back to normal. It's just so cluttered with all that stuff all over but I do miss the light and the tree.

I love the covers of those books Dinosaur Eat Paris is my fave and I am looking forward to jumping back into your monster porn monday. Missed the last couple of weeks

Hope you have a great week Carol! Enjoy all your new reads!

  6. No hangovers here this year, we had a very low key New Years. Yours sound fun. We still have our tree up but everything is down. It is always nice to get back to normal, although I do miss all the holiday stuff.

Glad to hear the movie was good

Car troubles, blergh. :( How was The Hobbit? I'm waiting until it hits NetFlix or Amazon Prime.

  10. I miss my Christmas crap, but at the same time it was really cathartic to do a deep clean now that everything is put away. My BF is super handy too (he's the assistant maintenance lead at the apartment complex we live in) and it's such a bonus. Looking forward to MPM and your post about audiobooks with your kids!

I deleted my revious post to add - Did you like The Hobbit? I saw it when it first came out and really enjoyed it! Have a great week Carol :)

  11. Alan Russell's books look great. Will be checking those out.
My water heater has started to drip and I know I'll have to do something with it soon. No handy hubbie around though!
All of my decorations are now packed away and my house is back to normal. Feels bare though. LOL Bring on spring!

  13. So many books! Hope you enjoy them! I do agree about handy husbands being a good thing. The idea of paying for all the stuff mine is able to do makes me a bit ill. Makes life much easier! Have a great week!
