AVR News Update
Hello and Happy Sunday!
Whew! It has been quite the week! I don't even remember what news I was going to share last Sunday before the storm hit Thurs night and we lost power on Fri morning. If you missed my update you can read all about it here. I've spent all week playing catch up (and missed 2 tour dates) and now that I'm pretty much got things back to normal and under control that freakin' wench Mother Nature is throwing another storm our way. The forecast says freezing rain starting late tonight and lasting until basically Tuesday. So, if I disappear again (we do not have smartphones; yes, we live in the Dark Ages because I refuse to pay Verizon's outrageous price for a data package) it means we've lost power again. I sincerely hope that is not the case! At least this time I have bags of ice stored in the bottom of the chest freezer.
So, I was going to do the Indies of March, but instead I'm taking the rest of March off to build up a review reserve and get my tour books read and ready. I have two tours yet this month and I may have a review here and there, but for the most part, I'm reading for the month of April.

So sorry about the storm inconvenience you experienced. We went through 6 days of Superstorm Sandy without electric, heat, water, so yes I feel your pain. The Mary Burton title looks good to me also :) Thanks for sharing your news and books.
ReplyDelete3 days was plenty long enough, I can't imagine 6 or more days. Yikes!
DeleteThanks for the mention, Carol! Sorry to hear about your power!
ReplyDeleteNo problem! :) And thanks!
DeleteYour new books are all new to me...hope you escape any further power outages....what a mess! Enjoy your new week and your catch-up plans.
ReplyDeleteHere's MY WEEKLY SUNDAY/MONDAY UPDATES
I hope so, too! Better charge up my Fire, just in case. ;)
DeleteThe weather is just crazy! I can't wait till it makes up it's mind because it's making me insane!
ReplyDeleteAll your books look great! I do hope you enjoy them all! I also want to spend a month reading for the next month, I think I plan to do that soon, since I tend to lack the review I want on my blog. My outside the blog life tends to get in the way of me reading like I want to but once summer comes I usually make up for it. I just wish I could read like that during the winter/spring too.
I hope you have a great week! Enjoy all your new books!!!
Michelle
It would sure be nice if it would stay Spring for awhile.
DeleteI don't have much of a choice. I need to get some reviews written and drafted, but they'll only last a week. So, it's time to stockpile. lol
Thanks and you, too!
Freezing rain is the worst, I'd rather have snow LOL. Hope you avoid an outage this time! Good luck with building up the review reserve... have a good week.
ReplyDeleteI would much rather have the snow! lol I hope so, too! Thanks!
DeleteMother Nature has not been your friend. I have been sneaking in April reviews between my TBR reads and so far it is working, and on the plus side I have posts scheduled in May already..LOL
ReplyDeleteMother Nature hasn't been anyone's friend this winter, IMO. We had beautiful days on Friday and Saturday. Last night is was SNOWING when I went to bed and it was below freezing this morning. Is it summer yet?

I guess that's what we get for having a couple mild winters in a row. :P Kimba, if I dind't luv you so much I could hate you for being so far ahead. LOL
Delete@Terri ~I just want a month or two of Spring. We went from winter to summer last year with about a week of Spring. I do NOT want to turn on the A/C in April! lol
Wow, you had a rough time with weather lately. I really want to read the Shelly Laurenston series. Oh if only I could read faster!
ReplyDeleteOh, that series is so funny and sexy and funny! Grab it and start reading! :D
DeleteLosing power sounds scary, it doesn't happen that often here. I can only remember it happening twice due to an outage, but both times it was fixed soon. I also don't have a smartphone, I don't want to pay for it and I am usually at home and don't really need a smartphone.
ReplyDeleteI really like the cover of Bite Me, the half tiger and half men face, it's done really well.
It's a real pain since we're in the country and don't have city water. It really doesn't happen often enough to justify buying a generator though. *sigh*
DeleteI like that cover, too. *psst* I already read it during the power outage. lol

ReplyDeleteOh my, hope you are ok now, it does sound like non-stopping at the moment in your part of the world. They do charge ridiculous amounts for smartphone contracts here as well and what annoys me as well is that if something goes wrong with them and you didn't pay for even more ridiculous insurance, you are basically stuffed with a expensive contract and no phone.
ReplyDeleteGreat book haul for you this week thought, I can't decide which one would be my favourite, Tunnelville probably, and Bite me
Have a great week and Happy Reading!
My Sunday post is here
We're good. Just hope what we get tonight and tomorrow stays mostly rain. *fingers crossed*
DeleteThansk, and you, too! :)
Mother Nature needs to stop being a dick already. Hope the storm doesn't get too bad for you this time. Enjoy your books! :)
ReplyDelete*points finger for emphasis* Exactly! lol Me, too and thanks! :)
DeleteEveryone at our house has smartphones, but me. I stay at home, so I just can't justify paying for data when I am at home and my phone would connect to our wifi. I have a texting phone only. *shrugs* Works for me. :) Enjoy your week.
ReplyDeleteI would only need it if the power was out, so there's no point in paying through the...ah, nose for it. I mostly text with mine anyway though we dropped the landline, so I do occasionally make family-related calls like app'ts and stuff.
DeleteThanks and you, too! :)
Ah, that sucks about the power! I hope the weather gets better for you! Looks like lots of good books, hope you enjoy them!
ReplyDeleteCyn @ Bookmunchies
It did suck. I am not really a camping person though I could if I really needed to. You know, like the Zombie Apocalypse or something. ;)
DeleteThey do look pretty good. I hope so, too. Thanks! :)
You've had a really good week for new books! Happy reading and thanks for visiting my blog.
ReplyDeleteIt's been pretty good. :) Thanks and you're welcome!
Deletegood luck with all the weather! I hope it doesn't get too bad again. Hopefully April will be a good blogging month for you too. :)
ReplyDeleteSo far so good. Only a two hour delay for school and it doesn't look as bad as they said itmight get. Yay! April should be chock full of reviews. :)
DeleteYou picked up so many fun books this week! I hope that they are lots of fun. :)
ReplyDeleteI've already read Bite Me and it was awesome! I love the Pride series! :D
DeleteMother Nature's been a real bitch lately! I really shouldn't complain, I'm in Texas - but she's not giving me the weather I expect from her here either! I really hope the storms aren't too bad for you this time - Good Luck! And enjoy reading your way to April, it sounds like an awesome plan :)
ReplyDeleteI know that's the truth! lol I'm hoping to get all of April scheduled and ready to go before the 31st of this month. *fingers crossed* :D
DeleteStorm Updates eh? Fortunately Nature's finally getting her act together. :3
ReplyDeleteHave a great week! :D
She needs to get it together quicker! I want to be able to turn off the heat and open the windows everyday. Not this back and forth stuff! lol
DeleteThanks and you, too! :)
The weather's not being nice at all with you, good luck ! Have a great reading week ;)
ReplyDeleteThis is the weirdest weather I've seen since moving to NC and I've been here 16 years. *sigh*
DeleteThanks and you, too! :)
Is it bad that I love power cuts? I love storms too and we hardly get them over here haha
ReplyDeleteI love thunderstorms. Love. Them. I'll take them any day over what we got last time. lol Plus, it's trying to do it again, but failing so far. Yay!
DeleteJust found your blog through the Sunday Post meme and glad to find another voracious reader :) Now following!
