Hello my lovely friends! I hope everyone is well and reading like crazy. Me, not so much. The reading part, that is. I'm actually quite well, but the wheels sorta fell of my schedule. I've read very little this week. It's been a weird week and I didn't even get a chance to post my Friday Featured Spotlight which I have rescheduled for this upcoming week. I hope to pick up the pace in the days ahead with reading, some reorganizing of blog-related things and basically some other shit that needs to be done.AVR News Update
Soon, I will be adding that Linky thing to my Time Turner Tuesdays in case anyone wants to join me in reading books that are at least a decade old. I will also be starting a Saturday Shorts where I review books that are 100 pages or less. These posts will most likely have 2-3 reviews in the hopes it will help me get through my review queue a bit quicker. I'm still tweaking my Excel review sheets, only because I decided to add page numbers to help with my Saturday Shorts Feature. I guess I love creating more work for myself. LOL These are a few of the blog-related things I'll be working on for the month of September.
So, I'm still taking a break and will most likely continue this mini vacation for another week or possibly two depending on how well this coming week works out.
This is AVR News Update signing off. May all your books enthrall you.

Hurry back! I miss your reviews. :D The Butcher of Beverly Hills sounds creepy... O.O
ReplyDeleteI miss posting, but it makes sense to get my ducks in a row before going full steam ahead again. :)
DeleteIt actually looks like it might be humorous. I'll find out though. lol
CRY WOLF!!!! I <3 that book and series. :)
ReplyDeleteI bought my first Allison Brennan book yesterday at my church's used book sale. Hmm, I think I forgot to put it in my Sunday Post. Oh well.
You do love your spreadsheets, don't you? LOL Enjoy your mini-break, we all need them now and again.
I love Mercy Thompson, so I really need to read the spin off series.
DeleteI never used to love spreadsheets, but I'm not the most organized person, so they've helped. It's just getting them the way I need them that's the pain. lol
Lovely to visit your blog my InD partner in crime LOL! The two from Entangled look awesome!
ReplyDeleteHi Mags! *waves with exuberance* I'm doing a Friday Featured Spotlight with Entangled that will have those two and 'Her Wicked Sin' that I got from NetGalley. If all goes well this week I'll have it up 9/20.
DeleteOoh, those two J. D. Robb books are new to me! Thanks! And I'm curious about The Butcher of Beverly Hills. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteHere's MY WEEKLY SUNDAY/MONDAY UPDATES
I have yet to read any by J.D. Robb. I'm slowly collecting them though. :)
DeleteThe Butcher of Beverly Hills looks like it might be humorous. I'll see soon. lol
How gorgeous a cover is Essenced?!! I must add that to wishlist and hope it turns up free on Smashwords at some point!
ReplyDeleteSounds like some interesting changes on your blog. I have a lot of short stories and novellas that I need to get on with. Too many books, too much time messing about with the computer!
It is! It has all the colors I love.
DeleteI'm hoping the Saturday Shorts helps with the queue, but I have no idea how many pages each of my review books has, so I have to look them up and add the # to my spreadsheet. It takes a lot of time and patience, two things I don't have a lot of. lol I also need to start limiting my social network time. I'm getting better at it though.
I love the cover of Tempting Bella, and I love to do organization things behind the scenes of my blog. I am looking forward to your Sat Shorts. I do Coffee Pot Reviews, but started them to fit reviews in..LOL
ReplyDeleteThe organization is getting there. It's just going back and adding the page count to each book. I wish I had thought of that before. lol
DeleteI hope by adding a day with a couple reviews I can get through my queue faster and if the books are shorts that makes it more feasible for me to do. I'm hoping to start that in the 1st part of October.
New follower! Can you believe I've never actually read any JD Robb or Nora Roberts! I know! I should be disqualified from the reading club! Happy reading!

Then I should be kicked out, too. I've been collecting them, but haven't actually read any yet. lol
DeleteOh I know all to well about the wheels falling off the schedule. No worries. Hope things come back together and calm for you soon. :)
ReplyDeleteHave a great week!
If you'd like to stop by I have a Sunday Post up as well...

It seems my wheels fall off more than most. :D Hopefully, this reorganization will mean less of that. Well, as long as Real Life doesn't muck up Reading Life. ;)
DeleteEnjoy the time off. Doing a linky for Time Turner Tuesday sounds good- it's nice to see reviews of older books sometimes. Have a good week.
ReplyDeleteIt seems everyone is always reviewing the bright new shiny books and there's nothing wrong with that. I do it, too! However, I like going back and giving some additional love to older books. :)
DeleteThe JD Robb books do look good. Nice set of books this week.
ReplyDeleteOne of these days I'll sit down and read her books. :)
DeleteThanks!
