Mrs. Ovalle writes a sweet, loving, yet steaming hot romance between two veterans who have survived hell and found salvation with each other. She follows Nick through his journey to find himself again after the wear and tear of service on the front lines. If service members were to have a fairy tale, this would be it. Nick is a Marine through and through. He’s cocky, crude, and foul mouthed but also compassionate and loving. Mrs. Ovalle captures the emotional journey both Doc and Nick have taken and illustrates it all beautifully. She brings the realities of war and the recovery from injuries, both visible and not, to life and captures the essence of why many veterans have chosen to serve. Beverly Ovalle you have touched this Marine’s heart and your story will be with me for a very, very long time. Semper Fi.

When my husband saw I had a mystery for review (he loves mysteries) that I wouldn't be able to get to for awhile he said he would review it if he didn't have to actually write the review. So, here is our collaborative review effort on the book he read that I haven't had time to read yet. I bet Catherine Dilts didn't know she was going to be our guinea pig when she sent me the book. :) This should be interesting...

The Studly One (TSO): It's nice to be here. *waves to readers*

Me: So, you read Stone Cold Dead for me. I know how much you love Robert B. Parker and you haven't been able to find any other books to meet your *whispers* exacting *normal voice* standards in regards to mysteries, but overall how was this book for you?

TSO: I thought it was pretty good. The characters were interesting and well-fleshed out, the story was pretty good with enough twists and turns to keep me interested and the pacing while a little slow in spots, wasn't too bad. The main character at times reminded me of Stephanie Plum (the main character from Janet Evanovich's Plum books). Not in a bad way because I enjoyed those books, but the character, Morgan, seemed to be getting herself into too many situations that could have been avoided.

Me: How was the mystery part of it?

TSO: Pretty good though I was pretty sure I had the killer figured out about halfway through. Well,I had it down to 2 people, but I couldn't say I was 100% positive of who the killer was.

Me: Were there any secondary characters that stood out?

TSO: Yes, Del was an older guy who helped Morgan with the store and he was quite the character.

Me: Would you continue with this series?

TSO: Yes. Absolutely. I'm still on the hunt for another Robert B. Parker though. *sighs mournfully*

Me: I swear you have a bromance with that man. It's sad he died. *sighs*

TSO: I know. I'm hungry. Are we done yet?

Me: You sound just like the kids when I'm trying to get them to give me their thoughts on the audiobooks we listen to.

TSO: *stares at me* I'm still hungry.

Me: Fine. Go eat. So, there you have it folks. Hubby enjoyed the book and would continue on with the series. Have a great day and may all your books enthrall you!

Tricia Andersen breaks your heart right from the start with this third installment of the Black Irish Series! Sloan leaves Abbey after her kidnapping and subsequent rescue makes him realize just how much danger she is in if he stays with her. Abbey is so heart broken she falls into a deep depression, but with the help of her family and friends gets through the 3 years she is apart from Sloan.

Sloan is forced to make a decision within his business and uses it as an opportunity to bring Abbey back into his life, if only as co-workers. The love and history between them is too much to overcome and Abbey and Sloan find themselves fighting their feelings for each other. When the press releases pictures of Sloan and Abbey together, an old enemy returns and tries to take Abbey's life in an effort to make Sloan suffer. Sloan is determined not to let that happen and to keep Abbey and his daughter not only safe but in his life.

This was a really great read. You just didn't know what was going to happen next. Sloan and Abbey have great chemistry, flaming tempers and they don't hold back an inch! I can't wait to see what happens next for these two in book 4!!!

After losing her position at Roadies because of her frequent absences, Max takes matters into his own hands and gets both he and Chloe a job at his friend’s MMA training gym, The Hard Drive. He also enlists the help of his friend Mark, an emergency room doctor, to find an answer and cure to Chloe’s mystery illness. Max does everything he can to convince Chloe he wants to be in her life, despite her illness and the limits it puts on their relationship. When Chloe’s mother is injured in a car accident leaving her temporarily in a wheel chair and in need of more care Max steps up to the plate and moves into their home to help with her care and the medical bills.

Tricia Anderson writes a sweet and emotional tale of a man who will do anything to care for the woman he loves. Max’s patience, kindness, love and compassion knows no limits as he cares for Chloe as well as Chloe’s mother. Through every hurdle thrown their way Max is there as Chloe’s rock solid support. Definitely a very promising start to a wonderful series. Can’t wait Ms. Anderson!!!
