Hello and Happy Sunday!

Hope you had a great Halloween yesterday!

On the Home Front

Sunday ~ Woke up, did the morning things, then made French Toast Bake and cinnamon roll apple pie filling dish. Both got demolished. Anna and Chris left around noon to go to the State Fair. I spent the day drafting and scheduling BBNYA Semi-Finalist spotlight posts. There are so many! They don't end until December 21st. I scheduled through Nov. 7th. Made the boys Hamburger Helper for dinner. I ate the last brat and baked beans.

Monday ~ Took Kyle to work by 4:30am, went back to bed until 8:30, did the morning things then started working on my BBNYA posts. Got scheduled through Nov. 28th. Picked Kyle up at work. Boys had leftover HH. I had a baked potato and tomato soup for dinner. Anna went to Chris's after work and didn't get home until after 9pm.

Tuesday ~ Took Kyle to work, went back to bed, up at 8:30. Morning stuff followed by blog stuff. Polish ham and salami sandwich (I seem to be stuck on this lol) for lunch then picked Kyle up at work since Anna had online therapy at 4pm which wasn't enough time to hit DQ for him before getting home. Had Sortof Mystery Tea once home. Made spaghetti for dinner.

Wednesday ~  Took Kyle to work, got gas, went back to bed. Up at 9;30. Oops! Did the morning stuff quick to get the dogs walked. Did some things on the computer then woke Trip to go get groceries. Put everything away. Made sausage gravy biscuits for lunch. Picked Kyle up at work since Anna needed to get to the oral surgeon by 4pm for a post-surgical checkup. All good. 👍 Made lasagna for dinner.

Thursday ~  Took Kyle to work, went back to bed. Up at 8:30, did the morning stuff then took Trip to his psychiatrist app't. Once home we had Sortof Mystery Tea and I put my clothes in the wash. Folded a load of towels. Puttered around then picked Kyle up at Anna's in-person therapy after work. Made pork chops for dinner. No eating or drinking after midnight for oral surgery tomorrow. Went to bed around 11:30.

Friday ~ Up at 3:40 and took Kyle to work. Almost home when I had to detour due to an accident. So I went all the way around only to find that way also blocked. I just knew it had to be at my road. And it was. Typical because my road is right by a curve. People are always taking it too fast. The cop radio'd and was told I could get to my road. There was a fire truck blocking the main road, but by moving a few cones and driving in the grass I was able to get to my road. There was a semi and a car just after my road. Too dark to see what went down. Got home and Anna's light was on in her room, so I told her about the accident and which way she would need to go. Was afraid to go back to sleep in case I over slept so I stripped and remade my bed and washed my bedstuff, washed some dishes, and puttered around until about 7:30 then decided I might be ok to take a little nap in my recliner if I didn't put the footstool up. So, I slept for about 30 minutes and managed to wake up with my 8am alarm. Fed the furries and by the time I was ready to walk the dogs Anna was home from work. We left around 9 to get to my 9:30 app't. I think I went under around 9:45 and Anna says they told her she could get the car at 11. My experience was not absolutely horrible, but it was not fantastic either. At first I was asleep but then I was awake enough to know what was going on. No pain, but slightly aware of someone grabbing my jaw hard and I think he was cutting into my jawbone because it was fucking loud, like a saw. Anyway, that was not what we agreed on. I wanted knocked completely the fuck out. I think they knocked me back out because after continuing to groan loudly everything went black again until someone was shaking my shoulder repeatedly telling me to wake up. The last oral surgery was a better experience, but that doctor was no longer in my network and that pisses me off. I absolutely loathe our healthcare system. Anna says the doctor talked to her about the surgery and that they sent some tissue out for biopsy, but did not explain anything else. Like, I know it was infected, so is that why? Or is it something else? Wtf. Once home, I settled into my recliner and Anna went to pick up my meds. Except CVS was out of stock on the medicated rinse and I won't get that until Monday. Good thing she had a bottle left from her surgery on the 14th. I'm guessing Anna told Trip he had to keep an eye on me while she was gone because he moved to the living room and put Harry Potter on the tv since that's what he was watching in the computer area. So I spent the rest of the day until about 11pm watching HP, taking my meds, eating soft foods, and icing my face. lol I did take a nap at some point. Anna picked Kyle up at work and brought me drinks, ice packs, and food. So, the kids were babying me. I settled in for sleep after 11pm, but left the tv on low.

Saturday ~ Woke up at 5am with a bursting bladder. Took care of bizness, refreshed my water mug, got an ice pack, and settled back in my recliner for more sleep. Woke up with my 8am alarm, turned it off, woke up to my 8:10 alarm (lol) and just lazed until about 8:30. Got up and fed the furries. Had Trip walk the dogs. Made tea (hot, Earl Grey 😭), took meds, ate soft foods, tossed some towels in the washer, and refreshed my water before settling down to depill a king-sized blanket. Chris came over with sausages and Anna made pumpkin pancakes from a mix she bought at the State Fair, scrambled eggs, and sausages. Chris warmed my up some mashed potatoes and Anna gave me some eggs for lunch. The blanket took me almost 4 hrs! My poor lint shaver that I've had since I was a teenager finally crapped out on me about halfway through. You'll never guess what I used in place of it. Not my fingers. The EquiGroomer we bought for the cats. lmao Worked pretty good for the front, but when I went to use it after dinner, it didn't work as well on the back. So that's when I used my fingers. Luckily, the back was not nearly as pilly. Is that even a word? Anyway, I did a few things like washed up the hummingbird feeders I asked Trip to bring in, I did a few dishes that Anna had in the sink, and put away the Chewy and PetSmart items that were delivered this week. Anna cleaned the laundry room since it was her turn for litter boxes. After I ate my dinner of mashed potatoes and lots of butter, that's when I worked on the blanket. Once Anna took the dogs out around 9:30, I gave them their night time snacks, did my salt water rinse, then medicated rinse, softly brushed my teeth, washed my face, and got an ice pack before working on finishing this post. Chris spent the night.

Today  Rest, read, maybe go play some Pokémon Go (there are some special raids going on that will need all 4 of us to win), rest and, read some more. And take my meds, use ice packs, and do my rinses.

Mystery Tea

Monday ~ None

Tuesday ~ Caramel Cola Black Tea ~ Black tea, apple pieces, caramel/lemon/orange essences - no best by date - Halloween sampler
Tasty!

Wednesday ~ Nope

Thursday ~ Citrus Fright Herbal Tea ~ Apple pieces, orange peel, lemon peel, gooseberry, citric acid, calendula, orange/lemon essences ~ no best by date - Halloween sampler
Smells very citrusy and is delightful. Taste is delicious. Trip says it's a strong lemon taste.

Friday ~ Nope

Saturday ~ Churro Cinnamon Roll Herbal ~ Red rooibos tea, apple pieces, cinnamon, cocoa peel, pumpkin pieces, calendula, maple/cinnamon essences - no best by date - Halloween sampler
I didn't care for this. It tastes too much like maple for me and I hate maple. Also, it gave me heartburn. Or contributed to my heartburn. Not sure since I'm taking a lot of meds right now. lol Trip likes it.

This month's order. Couldn't pass up the Halloween sampler
 and a couple Fall flavors.
New Year's Resolutions/Goals
I thought I'd keep a weekly record of these so I can see if anything is getting done. 😆
More reading, less tv ~ Probably half and half. Mostly audiobooks.
Go back to the beginning and revamp old blog posts ~ Nothing this week.
Exercise ~ No.
Tidy up outside ~ Nope.

Touching Nature:  We're enjoying some very nice Fall weather here in NC. Please stick around awhile and make yourself at home, Ma Nature. Although...we could use some rain.

Book News:  Audiobooks and no reviews written. I'm approaching 100 I need to write. Eek! Lots of BBNYA2026 Semi-Finalist posts though. I've added several to my TBR!

Don't Touch That Dial!: CSI: Miami. I see that the stupid storyline where Horatio's kid shows up is coming up in Season 6 and I'm almost done with season 5. I'll move on once I finish this season.

At the Flicks: Nope.

Cyberspace Playground: Wordle, Word Lots, Word Search, Solitaire, Pokémon, and the Finch app - if anyone wants to be friends just let me know.

Randomness:

Carol's Nuggets of Wisdom: I promised myself if I survived oral surgery I would start writing a book. So, I guess I need to do that once I'm back up and running properly again. I hate when I promise things like that and then actually need to follow through. Which is why I don't do that very often. lmao

That's it for me. AVR News Update signing off. May all your books enthrall you.

Chirp

I haven't looked at the Friday Freebie email yet.
