Hello and Happy Sunday!
On the Home Front
Sunday ~ Still hot. 🔥Did the usual morning chores, fed critters, did bird baths and hummingbird feeders, topped off generator then went to Food Lion to pick up a few things and fill all three 5 gallon gas cans. On the way home I saw a Duke Energy truck at the end of our road and the guy had this reallllllllllly long pole and was poking around at the top of the post. When I got home, the boys came out and said the power was off. I said that makes sense since a guy was poking the wires and shit. Wouldn't want to be a crispy dude. I reported the outage (for the 3rd day in a row!) and estimate was 4:30pm. For fucks sake!! Had the boys fire up the generator. However, about 20 minutes later the power was back on. Well, we didn't know that. It was a text telling me it was back, reason being something came into contact with the line, so I had the boys go turn off the generator. No further outage for the day. Anna made it home from Myrtle Beach. Leftovers for dinner.
Monday ~ Up at 4am to take Kyle to work. Still fucking hot, but not quite as bad. It was supposed to rain all day, but then it went away, so Trip and I did yardwork. He did the weed eating and I did the mowing. Since it was still hot and humid, I took 2 rest and hydration breaks. Trip was done first so he showered first. Then I showered when I was done outside. Just in time to go pick up Kyle at work. Made pigs in a blanket for dinner.
Tuesday ~ Up at 4am to take Kyle to work. Went back to bed then up at 9:00. Still hot but not as humid. Today would have been a much better day to mow. LMAO Anyway, Trip and I fed the critters and I did the bird baths and watered my flowers. I tipped the really foul-smelling garbage can over and jetted the hose at it from a distance. P-U! There was stuff stuck to the bottom, so after awhile I tipped it back up and put water in it to soak it. Puttered around the house before picking Kyle up from work. Made ACP for dinner.

Wednesday ~ Anna is now on mandatory OT so she took Kyle to work. I worked on the computer most of the day. I finished cleaning the garbage can and left it out to dry. Leftovers for dinner. Chris spent the night.
Thursday ~ Up at 7:45. Very humid out. Gross. Did the usual morning stuff then took Eevee to the vet. She absolutely hates to go in the carrier, but I closed the cat door in the bathroom door then closed the bathroom door, so she'd have no place to go. Then I took the top off the carrier and managed to lull her suspicions with tons of pets & attention until I quickly swooped, scooped, and plopped the lid on before she could escape. lol Then it was just a matter of holding it down while I put the screws back in place. She's smart though. She may not fall for that next time. I call that a future problem. After we got back home she got the really delicious dinner time food. So, she was appeased enough to let me pet her again. Made Trip and I scrambled eggs for brunch. I puttered around the house doing the usual house things (laundry, dishes, etc) and Trip and I fed the critters and did the bird baths. Picked Kyle up from work. Made a chicken creole alfredo dish I got at Food Lion. Paired it with some garlic bread. Not bad.
Friday ~ Got up at 9:30. YIKES! That's really late for me. Hurried to feed the furries and walk the dogs. Worked on the computer for awhile. Showered. Folded 2 big loads of towels. Changed my bedstuff and washed them. Trip didn't get up until after 2pm. Leftovers for dinner, but I had a can of soup with some of the homemade sourdough Nancy brought when she did the dogs' nails. I buttered some to dip in my soup and some to dip in honey for dessert. Yum.
Saturday ~ Up at 8:30. Usual morning shit then before I could get started on my cleaning Anna texted asking if I'd pick Kyle up so she could go to Chris's after work. They only work until 11am on Saturdays, so I said I guess so and puttered around until 10:30. Picked Kyle up. After swinging by DQ for his shake we went to BJ's to fill up his car, Natural Dog for dog food, and Food Lion to see if they had NY Strip steaks that were on sale (they did). Came home and did the cleaning. Since it was Kyle's turn for litterboxes I started with the laundry room. Followed by my bathroom before sweeping and mopping the main areas. I cleaned the sliding glass door and found a frog. And I cleaned the front doors. I need to scrub my sink, but I'll do it tomorrow. I'm tired. It's 5:15. Time to feed the furries and prep the baking potatoes. Kyle will be grilling the steaks soon, so I'll wind up this post. Chris spent the night.

Today Scrub my kitchen sink. I rinse it out during the week but give it a good scrub and shine with Barkeepers Friend on the weekend. I need to feed the critters and put fresh water out. Then maybe I'll try to pop out a couple reviews. I gave Anna a list of banners I need for reviews, but I have some she made months ago I can do in the meantime.
New Year's Resolutions/Goals
I thought I'd keep a weekly record of these so I can see if anything is getting done. 😆
More reading, less tv ~ Not really. I need to get out of this funk.
Go back to the beginning and revamp old blog posts ~ Nothing this week.
Exercise ~ No, though I did mow.
Tidy up outside ~ Not really.
Touching Nature: Still hot, hot, hot. We got a little scattered showers here and there, but it's not enough for our exceptional drought. At this point we need 15-20" to get us out.
Book News: A couple of audios. Still haven't written any reviews. At this point I'm sitting on...oh shit. 74 reviews. Ok. Maybe tomorrow I'll sit down and try to knock some of those out. Yikes.
Don't Touch That Dial!: Trip and I watched Jaws and Independence Day in honor of July 4th. Otherwise still watching Murdoch Mysteries. I am seriously considering dropping Netflix and Disney/Hulu. It's not a decision I can make lightly. Mostly because if I decide to go back I think it'll be a big hassle. And I've been with Netflix since around 2000. I've been with Verizon since 1995 (started out with a pager lol), but I'm also considering dropping them for someone else because a discount we had dropped and now our price went up. I'll need to do some comparison shopping.

One freebie and bought books 6-10 of Crow Investigations because I liked book 1. Books 2-5 weren't on sale, so I'll have to wait for those. I hope I didn't make a mistake. 😬
