Hello and Happy Sunday!

On the Home Front

Sunday ~ I got up around 9:00, but the dogs had gone out late (I went to bed at midnight eek), so I didn't feel as bad. Then I switched out my Valentine's stuff for St. Patrick's stuff. Except I thought I had a rug for the kitchen and I don't. Hmmmm. Did I dream getting one? 🤔 I did the dishes that had piled up in the sink. Things that couldn't go in the dishwasher. I was lazy and had just filled stuff to soak. That's so much easier to do with the bigger sink. lol I fed my critters and cleaned one of the birdbaths. I puttered around doing stuff like fold towels and misc. shit like that then took a shower. I made myself soup for lunch and we had Zaxby's for dinner. They forgot my order of fries. I hate Zaxby's, but the kids like it. The only thing I eat from there is the egg rolls and fries. And I didn't get my fucking fries. Watched The Mentalist.

Monday ~ Up at 4am to take Kyle to work since Anna has a head cold and called out. Worked on the blog. Chilly out! Approved the estimate for the equipment shed and put down the deposit. Made chicken legs and breasts for dinner. Coated and baked. Tasty.

Tuesday ~ Anna called out again, so took Kyle to work. After I got back up for the 2nd time and fed the furries and walked the dogs, Trip and I went to BJ's to fill Kyle's car up. Played some Pokemon. Anna, Trip, and I voted. Still chilly out. Came home to find my Girl Scout cookie order had been delivered. I couldn't find a booth so I just ordered them online. That's a dangerous practice my friends. It took a lot of willpower to contain my order to 6 boxes. lol The ex came over to get some things I had put aside and brought me his tax stuff. I'm going to do the taxes since 2025 is a bit complicated. After this, I will not be doing his taxes. After picking Kyle up at work I took him to vote. Anna went to therapy. She took our last Covid/Flu A/Flu B test when she got home. It was negative. We had leftovers for dinner.

Wednesday ~ Anna is back to work. I got up and did the morning stuff. I have a lot to do around the house and outside, but I just don't feel like it. Why is it so hard to get motivated? *a bit later in the afternoon* Ok, so I felt guilty about being so lazy. I had Trip help me move the shoe rack and Artemis's crate so I could sweep and mop and put down clean rugs. Then I took the rugs out of the kitchen and did the sweeping and mopping. Which I have not done nearly enough since it's been completed. No one told me what a workout it is to mop hardwood laminate. And now I have a lot of it. I unintentionally renovated towards getting more fit. lmao Tossed a bunch of rugs in the wash. Washed the dog dishes and water bowls. When Kyle got home he wanted his hair cut, so I did that outside on the porch. Swept and mopped the hallway then put down a new rug that will hopefully collect litter from the cats' paws before they get to Anna's bed. Made popcorn chicken and potato crowns for the kids and I had bean and ham soup with crackers and Girl Scout cookies for dessert.  Yum!

Thursday ~ Trying to get motivated makes me feel guilty. I've always been a bit of a procrastinator, but I think the last few years have just been too hard on me (being in constant overdrive just isn't my nature) and now I just want to vegetate. Which makes me feel even more guilty. I have a lot of stuff in my bedroom I need to sort and I need to do the craft area and the hall closet. There's a ton of little stuff that needs done and that doesn't include all the stuff outside that's waiting. It's overwhelming, to be honest. Fend for yourself for dinner.

Friday ~ Anna and Kyle forgot to wear purple to work so when Trip and I went to get groceries we dropped off the shirts. And some Biscuitville. lol Trip and I ate at Red Robin for lunch. Yummmmm. After putting away the groceries I started the extra cleaning that I do on the 1st weekend of the month. I did all the ceiling fans (we have 11 now lol), changed the furnace filters, cleaned the air purifiers, checked on the dehumidifier under the house and found the coils iced up. Oops. Turned it off to let it defrost. Trip and I fed the critters. I washed all the living room blankets and pillow cases. Another fend for yourself night.

Saturday ~ Cleaned the dehumidifier filter even though it didn't look dirty. Since I was scrubbing filters I took the lint trap out of the dryer and gave it a good scrub. I don't use dryer sheets all that often (I have dryer balls), but it still gets a bit of waxy buildup. Turned the dehumidifier back on, so hopefully it won't ice up again. Did the usual cleaning plus the rest of the 1st weekend of the month cleaning. Washed 2 loads of pet blankets. Dropped Trip off at Celebration Station in Greensboro for Boone's birthday party. Then I had to go back to get him later. Anna had a bowling tournament for work otherwise she would have gone and taken him with her. Timothy and Summer came out to shoot their new handguns. They left Lori and Noah at her mom's while they had a date. Summer said they hadn't done that since before Lori was born. I washed all the dishes that had piled up in the sink. Plus 2 large peanut butter containers I'd set to soak for recycling. I did up an Instant Pot of rice. Took it out and put on the Mississippi pot roast then went to shower. While waiting for the pot roast I worked on this post.

Today There are a few things I want to clean in the kitchen (stovetop and refrigerator shelves) then I'll probably start on taxes.

I'm going to try to motivate this coming week. I told the kids I am not doing shit the week of my birthday. I usually just take the day off (19th), but this year I'm doing the whole week from the 16th - 22nd. Bare minimum from me. That's it. And definitely not cooking. My plan is to relax and read.

I decided to rate the Girl Scout Cookies. I haven't had them in so long! Kyle is sad they don't have the cinnamon toast ones anymore. I didn't even know those were a thing. I guess he bought them from someone at work. lol I think I'll place another order and pick up ones I didn't try. Except the Do-si-dos. Not interested.

Exploremores ~ Meh 3 bites
Adventurefuls ~ Delicious! 5 bites
Samoas ~ YUM 5 bites
Thin Mints ~ Always a favorite 5 bites
Lemonades ~ Tasty! 5 bites

New Year's Resolutions/Goals
I thought I'd keep a weekly record of these so I can see if anything is getting done. 😆
More reading, less tv ~ I did!
Go back to the beginning and revamp old blog posts ~ Nothing this week.
Exercise ~ Nope
Tidy up outside ~ Nope

Touching Nature:  It's been warm. We've hit 80ºF this week. I had to turn on the A/C. Such bullshit.

Book News: I finished several books and wrote several reviews. Go me!

Don't Touch That Dial!: In season 6 of The Mentalist now. Time to start thinking about what to watch next. Anna will never be ready to watch Lost. She spends too much time doom scrolling on her phone or napping. I may just start watching it myself.

At the Flicks: Nope.

Cyberspace Playground: Wordle, Word Lots, Crossword Jam, Solitaire, the Finch app - if anyone wants to be friends just let me know.

Randomness:   Don't pretend you're not home! I taught you that trick!

Carol's Nuggets of Wisdom:  Life's short. Eat the good stuff.

That's it for me. AVR News Update signing off. May all your books enthrall you.
