Hello and Happy Sunday!

On the Home Front

Sunday ~ I decided to go ahead and mow. Then I really needed a shower. I shoved French Toast Bake in the oven since it takes 45 minutes and I hit the shower. After shower and noms, I started the laundry laundering, grated some cheese, and took my new tools out of their packaging and put in a carrier. I have my dad's giant heavy as fuck tool truck out in the shed, but it needs a good cleaning, sanding, and paint. Plus, I can't even get to it until I can get the other furniture out of the way and in the house. And that won't happen until Phase II is complete. But I did need to get my tools off the floor and out of reach since one of the dogs already chewed up one of the funnels from a set. Grrrr

Monday ~  Went to Carolina Supply to look at a faucets and kitchen sinks. Then we hit evil Wallyworld because Anna wanted blackout curtains to match the one set she already had and I got those a couple of years ago at that place. While there I ended up buying the chewies (Ol' Roy) that Artemis loves and can only be found there as well as a few other things. I only go there when I absolutely have to. Then we had breakfast at Waffle House. That was pretty much it for the day.

Tuesday ~ We went to Greensboro to an Asian market that has the furikake that Anna likes only to get there and it was out of stock. Oh, well. So we hit up Five Below (grabbed some over-the-ear earbuds, candy, and magnets) and B&N (picked up 3 books) before heading home. After Anna's therapy appointment she stopped at Harris Teeter because a friend said she'd seen furikake there. It's a different brand, but same stuff so she'll see if it's acceptable. lol

Wednesday ~ Artemis had an 11am appointment for vaccines and to check her eye pressures. All good. Yay! Between her appointment and flea and tick for 3 dogs and 2 cats I walked out of there $700+ poorer. Yikes.

Thursday ~ Trip and I spent the morning moving wood from behind the house to under the livingroom addition as well as the leftover siding. It wasn't far to move it, but it was a pain in the ass. Then he moved the Christmas lights from under the main house to there as well. So much easier to get to. Anna spent the morning washing bird baths and feeders. When the feeders were dry I filled them up. Had to shower because I was absolutely soaked in sweat. It was nice and cloudy, but the humidity was a tad high.

Friday ~ Kyle took the day off (I kept thinking it was Saturday because he was home) and I put everyone to work. Not very fair, I know. lol At least he got to sit on the Kubota while the rest of us raked up all the big ass rocks in the side and back yards. It was a pain to mow because I had to be careful not to chew up my new mower's blade and I was worried I'd actually step on one of those rocks and twist or break an ankle. It looks much better. Now, if I can get some kind of greenery to grow that would be great. Grass or weeds, I don't care. Anything to cover the mud when it rains. I was once again soaked in sweat. I am not even kidding. Completely drenched. So, another shower. Then Anna and I did some shopping. First stop Biggby's for a Mango Blood Orange Creme Freeze. Nom! Then the pet store for food and stinky treats, Dunkin for a small snack for us humans, Big Lots, Harbor Freight, Lowe's, Michael's, CVS, and Food Lion. We brought all that home including the Lowe's boxes & Captain Kirk's special kibble that were dropped off up at the mailbox instead of down at the house. Put away perishables and went to pick up a Culver's order for dinner. I went to bed at 9 since I was beat.

Saturday ~ Cleaning day. Then I moved some things from the old living room to the new. Put away pet food and restocked the snack dresser. I use an old dresser that was my grandma's in the kitchen to put snacks (two big drawers) and my ziploc bags, foil, plastic wrap, etc. (two small drawers). Not sure what I'll do with it when I have a bigger pantry. Maybe use it in the craft area? Had Trip get all my audiobook CDs down in my office to move to the livingroom. And audio cassettes. Yowzer. I don't mind having CDs, but cassettes? Need to replace those, yeah? lmao Is there even a way to transfer cassette to CD or some kind of audio file? Will have to research. Anna went to meet a friend for a late lunch and the boys and I had Culver's for dinner again. Kyle's treat this time. lol Then I worked on this post. Two days of outside work and a day of cleaning today makes me a very sore person. And tired.

Today Every Sunday I say I want to relax and read. That never happens. I start doing stuff and that leads to more stuff and the next thing I know it's late afternoon. I'd like to finish moving the knickknacks to the new livingroom. They're dusty so I have to clean them first. Maybe I'll put up my rod and sheers for the patio door? Or the blinds in Anna's room and livingroom? We'll see. I have books to read, so maybe I should just sit and do that.

Construction News ~ Waiting on laundry room backsplash quote. Got quote for kitchen sink and the faucets for kitchen and laundry room. Sink is a bit pricey even if it's a bit fancier than the others I looked at. The faucets are ridiculously expensive.

Touching Nature: Very nice this week even if it's still a bit humid. Not very Augusty at all and I'm so here for it.

Book News:  I'm so very far behind.

Don't Touch That Dial!:  I was jumping between Buffy and Angel then Dawn showed up. UGH! So, I've been watching Angel until I can sit down to watch the last 3 CSI:NY, Then I think Anna and I will continue with Lost.

At the Flicks: Nope

Cyberspace Playground: Wordle, Word Lots, Crossword Jam, Solitaire, jigsaw puzzles, the Finch app - is anyone wants to be friends just let me know.

Randomness:   IKR?! My go to lazy meal is just eating chips from a family size bag or something. If I have a bit more energy I might pop open a can of soup.

Carol's Nuggets of Wisdom: I'm too tired for wisdom this week. Do you have a nugget of wisdom to share with me?

That's it for me. AVR News Update signing off. May all your books enthrall you.

  1. That tweet is such a mood! I hate when someone says "here is a one pot meal" and then they work with like 3 different bowls before they get to the pot.
