Hello and Happy Sunday!
On the Home Front
Sunday ~ Got up at 8, fed the furries, walked the dogs, then got the cleaning done. Anna and I went to a consignment shop and were there for quite awhile. It's like being in a black hole. So. Much. Stuff. lol We got some doodads and knickknacks and I bought a cool jar with a lid to use for dog treats and a really cool CD storage unit that I'm going to use for DVDs. I really like it even though Anna said it was, "cool, but kinda ugly." 😭
We also went to Lowe's to pick up some cleaning tools for the new floors and I was looking for a dehumidifier, but ended getting one at evil WallyWorld. Ugh.
Monday ~ Had a podiatrist appointment. Plantar fasciitis is better but not totally gone. Declined another cortisone shot since we agreed I probably don't really need it. Will try to continue resting it as much as possible, using brace, and ibuprofen. Electricians were here in morning to finish what needed done for inspection then electrical inspection passed! It's moving day for my brother, SIL, and their German Shepherd Albus. They sold their house next to the farm and are moving to South Carolina. Our last connection to the farm is now gone. On the plus side, they are now less than 4 hrs away instead of 8 hrs. My oldest brother is still in Athens, Ohio and about 5 hrs away. I need to plan a weekend there soon. He has the last of some of my stuff from the farm.
Tuesday ~ Final building inspection passed!! Andrew and Larry started building my generator platform. I worked on the blog.
Wednesday ~ Raul came to do touch ups and bring back the items he painted in his shop. All is ready to move back in. Andrew and Larry were going to finish the cover for generator and my flowerboxes, but it rained all day. I think they were going to go back to the shop to sand my mantel pieces. I worked on the computer.
Thursday ~ Kyle took the day off. The boys and I started moving stuff back in. Got Anna's bed together and her corner shelf and moved her desk in. In the late afternoon, after Anna got home early from work, we moved the couch, loveseat, recliner, and drop leaf table into the new livingroom as well as the tv and other electronics. I vacuumed the carpet in the old livingroom and we moved the huge couch which I'm not keeping back against the wall out of the way.
Friday ~ July 4th. Anna and Kyle off today. We moved a shitton back into the house in the morning. We dug the vanity out of the corner of my bedroom and moved it to Anna's room then put the small entertainment center into its spot. During the day I sorted boxes into sections of which belonged to who and started stacking anything that wasn't Anna's in the corner of the new living room. The large Pack Rat is empty. Yay! I moved all 14 boxes of her Squishmallows to her room for her to unpack. I also made her bed, the bunkbed, and unpacked the boxes with her blankets and pillows. She had fallen asleep with a monster headache. I'm just trying to stay busy so I don't dwell on this day being the 7th anniversary of dad's death. At least there's plenty to do. Kyle grilled steak on the new back deck.
Saturday ~ Moved the last of the few items left in the small Pack Rat into the house and onto the front porch. The boys & I moved some wood I had scavenged from the build back under Anna's room. It had to be moved out for the final inspection then it got rained on Wednesday. Since it's supposed to rain tomorrow I wanted it back in while it was mostly dry again. Spent the rest of the day cleaning then a shower before working on this post. I scheduled the Pack Rats to be picked up but they are slammed and it won't be until the 18th. At least they are empty. Anna is deciding how she wants her furniture before we start unpacking things.
Anna's room
Today I'm thinking of resting. That may or may not happen. I may rest for a bit but then I might move knickknacks from former livingroom to new one. We'll see how the day goes since it's supposed to rain.
Construction News ~ So, Phase I is complete. Well, complete-ish. There's still some small things to finish such as the mantel pieces, some electrical in Anna's room that didn't affect the final inspection (a closet light and installing the sconces for her window seat which I had on order and just got as well as hooking up my generator and installing an outlet under the house for my dehumidifier), moving some plumbing from under the house to under the livingroom addition, cover for my generator, and my flowerboxes out front. Electricians and plumber are scheduled for the 10th.
Phase II will be a bit while I wait for the carpenter to draw up my cabinets, I go over them, make changes if needed, then I'll get my quote. After I pay the deposit, then he'll order material and begin building them. The contractor will wait until the cabinets are nearly done then they'll get to work demo-ing stuff inside. That way I have a breather to pack things up and move things around and it will make the window of chaos smaller. That's the plan anyway.
Touching Nature: Hot, rainy, humid. Got a bit of relief Saturday. We'll see how this week goes with the rain coming in.
Book News: Nothing to report. I haven't finished the audio I was listening to since Kyle took Thursday off and had Friday off. Too mush going on to write reviews.
Don't Touch That Dial!: Still watching CSI:NY, but as of Friday watching it in the new livingroom. Yay! Watched Independence Day Friday evening and Jaws Saturday evening.
At the Flicks: Nope
Cyberspace Playground: Wordle, Word Lots, Crossword Jam, Solitaire, jigsaw puzzles, the Finch app - is anyone wants to be friends just let me know.
Randomness: Happy July 4th. Let's hope it's not our last free holiday since Felon47 managed to get his Bloated Disgusting Bill passed. Fuck everyone who voted for it.

Ok. So this week has been stressful and when I finally sat down at my computer Saturday at 4pm and started going through emails, the Chirp ones provided a brief bit of stress relief. The best part is, I've been meaning to read many of the ones I picked up and the rest looked interesting. I'll get to them eventually.
Also, after I completed my order, I got a message that I've saved over $4,000 using Chirp!
